In the beginning we meet a guy, a husband who lives with his wife and child together with the parents in law in a small flat. Some time before he studied Russian at the local university but had to quit and now he's working in the library. The atmosphere (constant yelling of his mother in law, constant complains of his wife, bubbling of his child and the father in law watching some stupid TV broadcasts over and over again) at home suppresses him and he is slowly having enough of it. One day, he walks out and on the evening walk around Warsaw, he gets in to a random party where he meets this girl he likes very much. And this is where it all starts. From that point, he is becoming more and more fascinated by that girl but the fascination can have its dark sides too. That involves loosing control, getting involved in different situations etc. The director, Wajda (very well recognized internationally), made yet another brilliant, psychological movie about human emotions, relationships, weaknesses, hopes and such. I don't want to give out more but surely, if you come across this piece it is worth watching.
