On the casting for the part of Lucia (played by Anita Linda in the second segment), Playwright, Frank Rivera recounted that Armida Siguion-Reyna had her hands first to the role as she originally played it on stage in the '70s but the part eventually went to Anita Linda when Lino Brocka made it into a film. During break at an actor's workshop, Rivera brings up this matter and was expecting some fiery comments from Siguion-Reyna directed at Brocka, but to his surprise, she tapped his hands and said: "You know, Frank, Lino was kind and a gentleman. Rosa Rosal and I had the part and he said we both were able to bring it to life. Maybe he chose Alice (Anita Linda in real life) for the film so that there wouldn't be hard feelings from us."
