In the earlier scenes the car is a 1970 Cutlass with factory AM-FM radio, sport steering wheel, and dual hood scoops. When we see the car again in the final scenes it is now a 1971 Cutlass with aftermarket CD player and NO hood scoops. The story we are given that it was repainted does not explain away the fact that it is an entirely different car.

In the car by the lake, Tanya's beer suddenly changes hands.
