After 30 years of partnership, the two South Park creators’ #1 goal is still to crack each other up — I guess they’re good buddies, guy.
When multiple genius artists have been in a state of constant collaboration for even a fraction of the time that Trey Parker and Matt Stone have spent making their beloved TV shows, movies, Broadway musicals, video games and Denver-area dinner entertainment experiences, the usual expectation is that the weight of massive success, wealth and expectations will drive the partners to despise each other, à la The Beatles, Monty Python or Siskel and Ebert. Thankfully, the duo that got paired up for a partner project while they were both enrolled in a film course at the University of Colorado Boulder has shown no sign of the internal strife that’s broken up so many incredible artistic collaborations through the years, and, if blowing $40 million to fix up...

Jodie Foster's career has been famously wild. As a child, she appeared in lightweight Disney films like "Napoleon and Samantha" and "Freaky Friday," while also taking the world by surprise playing an underage sex worker in Martin Scorsese's "Taxi Driver." Throughout the 1980s, she successfully continued acting as she grew, appearing in films like "Foxes," "The Hotel New Hampshire," and "The Accused," for which she won her first Academy Award. In 1991, Foster won her second Oscar for playing FBI cadet Clarice Starling in Jonathan Demme's bleak serial killer thriller "The Silence of the Lambs," one of the few films to win "The Big Five" Oscars. That same year, Foster made her directorial debut with the child-prodigy drama "Little Man Tate."
From then on, Foster was a Hollywood staple, leading multiple high-profile studio dramas like "Maverick," Robert Zemeckis' "Contact," and "Anna and the King." She also worked with...

Photo Credit: Paramount Pictures After their Comedy Central show South Park premiered in 1997, Trey Parker and Matt Stone became lightning rods for controversy. That extended to their other projects, too — especially Team America: World Police. That film, which was done using puppet animation, was released 20 years ago, in October 2004. A quick history lesson, for those of you who may not remember: By the fall of 2004, America had been fighting a war in Iraq for a year and a half, with no clear end in sight. So, yes, a film — even an animated film — portraying a secret American military force fighting around the world attracted its fair share of controversy. Of course, Parker and Stone took it all in stride. When the movie was released, they told us the real irony about the controversy is that the film was written and in production well before the war even started. (Click on...

Though South Park’s post-covid specials may have painted future Stan Marsh as both a higher-up in the U.S. Space Force and an online whiskey consultant with an analog Alexa, as of 2024, Colorado’s own could finally take on another job: Lending his acting chops to Motivation Corp.
In Season Six’s “My Future Self ‘n’ Me,” Stan comes face-to-face with a man claiming to be his 32-year-old self, a smoker and drinker who spent time in juvie. After a miniature existential crisis and a montage of Odd Couple proportions, Stan discovers his new roommate isn’t his future self but rather an actor his parents hired from “Motivation Corp.,” which commissions performers to play older versions of kids to scare them away from drugs and alcohol.

As you’ve probably heard by now, last week Elon Musk staged a tech event heralding his bold new vision for the world of tomorrow. Unfortunately, that “bold vision” was really just designs from a 20-year-old Will Smith movie that only has 57 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. You may as well try to base a futuristic utopia on Michael Bay’s The Island, or Surrogates starring Bruce Willis.
But the big star of the “We, Robot” event was Optimus, Musk’s exciting new artificial intelligence creation that can do our chores for us, throw dance parties and even serve drinks. Musk suggested that Optimus could one day be cheaper to buy than a car. But at least no Toyota Corollas have ever tried to murder John Connor.
It later turned out that these Optimus units were really being controlled by human beings, a detail that was conspicuously omitted from Musk’s presentation,...

The documentary may be finished, but the story of Casa Bonita is far from over.
Just weeks after the release of ¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!, the acclaimed film chronicling the highs and lows of Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s extensive (and expensive) renovation of the iconic Colorado eatery, some major news concerning the future of Casa Bonita dropped.

The restaurant’s in-house performers, including cliff divers, puppeteers, actors and magicians, are moving to unionize with IATSE and Actors’ Equity Association. According to a union press release, employees are simply looking for “fair pay” as well as “benefits” and “clearer communication between workers and management.” All of which sounds pretty reasonable.
They also have concerns about “insufficient training” and “abusive patrons emboldened by alcohol.” And really, who amongst us would want to perform a children’s puppet show for crowd of rowdy South Park fans who have been day-drinking...

The blood-thirsty hitchhiker, the escaped psycho with a hook for a hand, the babysitter and the call that is somehow unequivocally coming from inside the house; we all known them. The modern day fables that have shaped our fears and behaviours arguably more than any others. Urban legends that all seem to have sprung out of the American post-war hangover of the 1950s and ’60s, as inequality took seed and the dark side of the new white-picket-fence suburbia slowly set in off-screen. Ed Gein and Ted Bundy and the Moors Murders filled the news. Doubts about our fellow man, and about what they’re capable of. About how we very much aren’t “all in this together”; that the days of blindly trusting one another are all but over. That people, strangers in particular, are more likely to be dangerous than helpful.
And naturally, those cautionary tales bled into culture and filmmaking.

Entertainers and crewmembers at the Casa Bonita immersive restaurant, owned by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, are looking to unionize with Actors’ Equity and IATSE.
The restaurant, based in Lakewood, Colorado, a suburb of Denver, recently reopened after being bought out of bankruptcy by Parker and Stone. The restaurant features cliff divers, actors, puppeteers, magicians and more as part of the dining experience, supported by crewmembers.
These workers are looking to unionize due to a range of concerns, starting with safety at work, and including insufficient training, as well as fair pay, greater benefits, and better communication between workers and management. The workers asked for, but did not receive, voluntary recognition, and are now filing with the National Labor Relations Board for an election.
The bargaining unit includes around 60 performers, divided into wet and dry entertainers, and about 20 crewmembers, who are looking for representation with IATSE.

Twelve years ago, South Park tried to warn us that we’d be watching football players prance around in bras and tinfoil hats, doling out compliments and hugs instead of making hard-hitting tackles. Now, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is starting to taste the truth about Butters’ Creamy Goo.
On Monday, Rodgers and the Jets fell to their division rivals the Buffalo Bills by a score of 23-20 on Monday Night Football in a nationally televised game that was plagued by penalties as the referee crew showed off their itchy flag fingers to the frustration of fans and players alike. For instance, after Rodgers took what looked like a textbook sack from Bills defensive end A.J. Epenesa on a crucial third down during the third quarter, the officiating crew called a roughing the passer penalty on Epenesa, prompting Rodgers to tell his opponent, “That’s an awful call,” according...

When news broke that the South Park guys were making a Broadway musical, few would have guessed it would go on to win nine Tony Awards. Trey Parker and Matt Stone were probably surprised as well, since their original intention for Book of Mormon was to make an animated movie as a follow-up to one of their biggest movie successes.
That’s what one of the musical’s original stars, Josh Gad, told Jesse Tyler Ferguson on his Dinner’s On Me podcast, via Indiewire. “Trey and Matt thought that they were going to do it as an animated film. It was going to be their follow-up to Team America. And we ended it,” Gad explained about a live reading of the script. “The response was effusive, albeit people were definitely taken aback and shocked. And they had a huddle and they decided in that moment, ‘Let’s try this as a live theatrical thing.

Detroiters is one of the funniest shows of the past decade, and now it’s finally available on Netflix — but only after Netflix seemingly pissed off every single Detroiters fan on the internet.
After previously announcing that the Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson-starring show would be available on their service (which also produces Robinson’s I Think You Should Leave) beginning on October 15th, Netflix quietly deleted those announcements and never added the show to their library that day.
As we previously mentioned, people were extremely ticked off, especially since absolutely no explanation was given for the apparent change of plans. It seemed to many fans as though Netflix was ignoring the controversy and betting that the issue would go away — so basically the big tech equivalent of hiding in your home with the blinds closed, hoping that Mormon missionaries will get tired of ringing your doorbell.

Before it became a Broadway smash hit, “The Book of Mormon” could have gone animated.

However, after the live reading of the script, it became clear that “Book of Mormon” was best suited to Broadway.

The Fast channels business is booming, and it is finally cutting through with traditional TV viewers in Europe, said a panel of experts at Mia Market this morning in Rome.
Paramount+ and Pluto TV SVP of Streaming for Italy and South Emea Antonella Dominici recalled how early Fast adopters such as Paramount’s CEO and President of Streaming and co-founder of Pluto TV Tom Ryan had created the market in the 2010s, and explained why Europe had taken longer to catch on.
“Everything started in the U.S., like a lot of phenomenons,” she said. “We are late compared to the U.S., but there have been more traditional viewers who are staying on traditional platforms. Here we have a different way of watching TV. We are trying to put in place everything we can to accelerate this.”
Dominici told delegates that Europe was finally beginning to take the shape of the more established U.

With the way streaming services handle their most beloved shows, South Park creator Matt Stone almost misses the time when the biggest problem with TV was some nipple-rubbing a-hole at the cable company.
When South Park first premiered on Comedy Central in 1997, Trey Parker and Stone saw plenty of examples out there for how to do an animated, adult-friendly comedy show right. Parker and Stone looked up to the comedy geniuses behind The Simpsons, and they revered Mike Judge for what he managed to do with Beavis and Butt-Head. And, ultimately, the business model behind these shows was simple, effective and easy for Parker and Stone to imitate: pump out roughly 20 solid, inspired and consistently funny episodes per year, keep the ratings high and secure that season extension at the end of it all.

The first season of A24 and Prime Video's smash-hit animated series "Hazbin Hotel" ended on February 2, 2024, and while the creative team is hard at work on season 2, the show's popularity hasn't decreased. "Hazbin Hotel" earned the largest global debut viewership for a new animated title on Prime Video, surpassing other hot commodities like "Invincible" and "The Boys Presents: Diabolical." The series doesn't boast the same recognizable IP as its contemporaries, but that hasn't stopped it from becoming a phenomenon. In the months since the season's end, convention circuits have shown that "Hazbin Hotel" has become one of the most popular shows for cosplayers to emulate, fanart floods social media feeds on the daily, but thanks to the death of the monoculture, the popularity often feels like it exists in a vacuum.
I've previously described "Hazbin Hotel" as adult animation, but too edgy for the constraints of something like "The Simpsons.

All October long, Cracked is catching up with some of the greatest writers in Simpsons history to discuss the most beloved segments from the “Treehouse of Horror” series. From the cursed monkey’s paw to Krusto the Clown, we’re digging into the making of some real fan-favorites.
Al Jean and Mike Reiss are Simpsons legends — and stalwarts. In fact, they’re such stalwart legends that they were tasked with a feat even more difficult than writing the original “Treehouse of Horror”: writing “Treehouse of Horror II,” something that seemed impossible at the time given just how good (and beloved) the first one is/was.
And yet, they didn’t just outdo themselves; they kind of outdid the show, too, pulling off three segments that are considered classics in their own right. The first is about Homer wishing upon a cursed monkey’s paw. The second is a Twilight...

In a TV production climate that saw a 20% plummet in Los Angeles last year and an overall drop-off of 40% since 2022, risky, large-scale prestige projects are no longer the name of the game. But Roku Media content chief David Eilenberg sees a way to keep “risk built into the system”: social media influencers.

When “South Park” creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker thought they might buy the beloved Denver restaurant Casa Bonita, one of the first calls they made was to director Arthur Bradford. The two Comedy Central powerhouses have worked with the filmmaker for nearly a decade and a half, going back to when he directed their 2011 making-of documentary, “Six Days to Air.”
“Whenever they had a new project or just something that seemed interesting to film, I was always after them to let me do it,” Bradford told TheWrap. The director is currently on the set of Stone and Parker’s upcoming live-action comedy with Kendrick Lamar, working on another making-of film.
Initially, “¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!” was envisioned to be an “online marketing video” that could be shown as people waited for their food. But as Bradford and his long-standing photography director P.H. O’Brien worked on the project, it became...

The times they are a changin’, and in a politically charged climate with the upcoming election looming, a little bit of humor can definitely put things in perspective no matter what side of the spectrum you find yourself in. The sacred role of comedy, the leveled ground of conversation standing under the astute guise of humor is for many the last place left for the difficult conversations to occur.
Earlier this year the comedy world has definitely responded ten fold to the political climate, most expected with the type of media level mudfights the American public has experienced. Be it Kate Winslet’s Netflix Special the Regime, or one in particular, White Collar Prison: The Musical the satire landscape has become an essential way to present political projections in a safe way for society to hold open and candid discussions.

I’m sorry, I thought this was Canada!
Any American who thinks that our national pastime has an unparalleled ability to bring out the absolute worst from overly passionate parents in the lowest levels of amateur competition clearly has never seen a fistfight at a kids’ hockey game in Canada. Baseball may be as American as apple pie, and fighting over something as stupid and trivial as a boring-ass little league game may be almost as patriotic, but if the last 27 years of South Park content have taught us anything, it’s that the country of Canada is capable of obscene behavior well beyond what their southern neighbors can stomach.
Take the hockey parents of Ontario, Canada for instance. While us American South Park fans still celebrate Randy Marsh’s legendary one-on-one fights with other baseball dads in the Season Nine episode “The Losing Edge,” these real-life combative Canucks threw...

One year ago, Max added a huge benefit for subscribers with the Bleacher Report (B/R) Sports Add-On. For no additional cost, subscribers could now watch NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAA basketball and more. But the launch came with an ominous asterisk: those sports were free “for a limited time.” Will Max ever start charging?

If Max were going to pull the trigger, now would be the time. One year is more than generous for a “temporary” free perk, and we’re at the perfect time to raise the price. Max will offer the 2024 Alds & Alcs, the NHL starts play today, and the NBA is starting later this month.
Another factor to consider: Fubo successfully halted the launch of Venu Sports, a planned streamer that would offer all the same Warner Bros. Discovery sports broadcasts Max offers. If Wbd were expecting Venu revenue in Q4, it could...

You’ve never seen the Joker and Harley Quinn the way you’ll see them in ‘Folie a Deux.’

Short answer: Unfortunately, no. Max is not currently offering a free trial of its service for all new users. Sign Up $9.99+ / month max.com
In today’s streaming world where there are a ton of options free trials are an excellent way to test the waters of a service before deciding whether or not you want to commit to paying for a service. Throughout its history, the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned streaming service now known as Max has had an inconsistent history of free trials, and unfortunately, as of now, the service is not offering a free trial either directly or through any third-party partners.
However, there are still ways to save on the service. Recently, Max has joined with Disney+ and Hulu to create a first-of-its-kind bundle. You can sign up for the ad-supported version of the services for just $17 per month or go ad-free for $30.

Sean Combs continues to make headlines, not only for his crimes against humanity but for his real and fictional cameos on TV shows ranging from South Park to All That to MADtv.
Satirist Robert Smigel also got in some punches on Saturday Night Live, featuring Combs in a TV Funhouse cartoon called Diddy Kiddies.
Diddy Kiddies are three multi-ethnic middle-schoolers “solving mysteries, doing the bad thing, they out there going for the brass ring.” What mystery are the Kiddies trying to solve this week? They’re trying to get to the bottom of what exactly Diddy does for a living.
He doesn’t contribute much to his music videos, creative efforts that feature an all-star team of 2006 celebrities with Diddy popping in for a few frames. “Any clues to what I do?” he asks the kids. “Am I rapping?”
Diddy’s mouth opens and some words come out, but it doesn’t really qualify.

Production is underway on the most unlikely comedy collaboration since Terrance and Phillip made peace with the Queef Sisters.
Back in April, Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins announced that his company had officially greenlit a comedy film from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and rap superstar Kendrick Lamar, saying of the still-untitled screenplay, “This script is one of the funniest, craziest and most original scripts we’ve ever read, and it’s certain to create some fireworks when it hits theaters on July 4th, 2025.”
Almost six months later, we still know very little about the film — other than the fact that, contrary to Robbins’ other comments that day, the movie is disappointingly not a musical — but, earlier this week, residents of Pomona, California caught a sneak peek of the project’s set as Paramount and their unlikely team began filming.

If you can’t make the trip to Denver to eat at the famous Casa Bonita restaurant, watching the documentary “¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!” is the next best thing. And you can do it very soon, as the doc is hitting Paramount+ on Wednesday, the streaming service announced Monday.
“¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!” tells the story of the “rise, fall, and revival” of the iconic Lakewood, Colo. landmark, which opened in 1974, went bankrupt in 2021, and was rescued by “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who grew up going to Casa Bonita and immortalized it in a classic 2003 “South Park” episode. The documentary covers Parker and Stone’s ambitious attempt to restore the restaurant to its former glory, which they approach with the same intensity documented in the Emmy-nominated making-of-“South Park” documentary “6 Days to Air,” which shares producers with “¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!” The project quickly becomes a...

Start planning your fiestas now: Hit documentary “¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!” will launch on Paramount+ this week.
The film tells the story of how “South Park” creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker worked to save beloved Colorado-based Mexican restaurant Casa Bonita, which was immortalized in a classic episode of their animated show.
“¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!” will have its streaming debut on Paramount+ Wednesday, October 2 in the United States. The film has had a very limited theatrical run, but it has performed exceptionally well for a documentary, bringing in just shy of $125,000. “¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!” has been one of the highest-grossing documentaries of the year.

Comcast’s European television platform Sky has filed a federal lawsuit against Warner Bros Discovery (Wbd), alleging the entertainment giant failed to live up to certain expectations that were outlined in a multi-year agreement between the two companies.
The lawsuit largely centers around a pact between Sky and Warner Bros that was formed back in 2011, which pre-dated Comcast’s acquisition of Sky and well before Warner Bros merged with AT&T and, later, Discovery Communications.
Then, Sky struck a £150 million (around U.S. $200.6 million) licensing deal to license the entire content library of HBO, which was distributed through a new pay TV channel called Sky Atlantic.

Scientologists have a series of acronyms and codes to refer to the various threats to their plans for world domination, with the kind of “joking & degrading” featured on shows like South Park shortened to “J&d.” Gotta protect the head Fp somehow.
When Trey Parker and Matt Stone first started taking shots at the aggressively litigious and rapidly growing religious and political organization the Church of Scientology in the classic South Park Season 12 episode “Trapped in the Closet,” they unintentionally sparked one of the show’s most disappointing controversies that led to beloved series regular Isaac Hayes leaving the show for good, shortly before his death. As one of the many celebrities whom Scientologists successfully recruited into their ranks, Hayes supposedly took issue with South Park repeating the official Scientology creation myth verbatim and educating the world on what Scientologists actually believe.

For more than 25 years now, "Family Guy" has been an absolute staple of the television landscape. While it may have once been viewed as a lesser competitor that was living in the shadow of shows like "The Simpsons" and "South Park," it has now firmly earned its place as one of the greatest, longest-running adult animated comedies in history. Much like "Futurama," it also managed to survive being canceled multiple times. Set MacFarlane's wack Rhode Island family known as the Griffins has achieved pop cultural immortality.
But what are the very best episodes of "Family Guy" 25 years in? At this point, that's a tough question to answer given that we're sitting at more than 400 episodes, and MacFarlane has no plans to end the show any time soon. A simpler (albeit still difficult) question is to look at the show's classic era and determine the best episodes from the show's early run.

‘Industry’ has heretofore arrived on HBO at 9 p.m. Et, but that will change thanks to ‘The Penguin.’
Surely the characters of a title like “Industry” wouldn’t object to a little intra-company betrayal, would they? “Betrayal” might be a strong word, but at the very least it can be said that “Industry” is being forced to show a lot of deference to “The Penguin.” The new crime thriller set in the DC Comics universe debuts on HBO and Max on Thursday, Sept. 19, but will impact when you can watch “Industry” on Sundays. The dam broke. That’s how several artificial intelligence experts who spoke to IndieWire described the news of Lionsgate’s partnership with AI research firm Runway. While the deal is the first of its kind with a major Hollywood studio, it’s already likely that other studios will follow suit. One source speculated that almost all studios are weighing the option, but are reluctant to go public.
Lionsgate was also reluctant to explain why they’re heavily investing in allowing Runway to build exclusive AI models on its own film and TV library. Lionsgate vice chair Michael Burns cited its uses in the “pre-production and post-production process” and that AI can be a tool for “augmenting, enhancing, and supplementing our current operations.”
That could mean almost anything, but Reid Southern, a concept artist on the original “The Hunger Games,” had a clear take. “This is the first step in trying to replace artists and filmmakers,...

When Josh Gad joined the voice cast of Disney's animated movie "Frozen," which came out in 2013, he probably didn't think that he was about to become part of one of the biggest pop culture juggernauts in recent history. Both the original and its 2019 sequel, "Frozen II," made buckets of money at the box office, while the first movie also scored an Academy Award for best original song (thanks to the inescapable earworm "Let It Go"). Plus, Gad's character Olaf, a living snowman who wants to experience summer, became a breakout success on his own. So does Gad have any regrets about his "Frozen" experience? Yes, actually. He wishes he'd changed his voice a little more for the character.

Two years on from being promoted to Co-Chairmen of WME, Christian Muirhead and Richard Weitz gave one of their first public interviews, talking about the future of the entertainment business, and in particular, AI, movies on streaming, the future of Paramount and Fast channel services such as Tubi.
“Despite the challenges and the disruption, we have real confidence in the power of art, so we feel really good about the future,” said Muirhead at the Ft’s Business of Entertainment conference.
Muirhead and Weitz were promoted in September 2022, succeeding Lloyd Braun. Muirhead came from the world of corporate communications, while Weitz was an agent.
“We got these jobs at the tail end of a lot of chaos, coming out of Covid, and then we stepped right into a little bit of chaos with the strikes. It’s been a little bit tumultuous. But for us, I think we have become...

What’s the secret acting trick to nailing a part in a Trey Parker and Matt Stone project? Shut the hell up and say the lines Trey Parker and Matt Stone wrote, of course.
When the South Park creators’ long-awaited comedic musical about their favorite friendly religious order, The Book of Mormon, premiered at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre in 2011, it was an instant hit. Critics and audiences praised the playwriting and the performances, specifically that of Frozen star Josh Gad in the role of Elder Cunningham. Then, when Gad left the show in 2012, the Book of Mormon producers scrambled to find an actor who could handle the chaotic script from Parker and Stone while most closely imitating Gad’s immaculate performance, hiring future Miracle Workers star Jon Bass to do his best Gad impression.
Very quickly, the creative team of The Book of Mormon realized that no one could...

Casa Bonita just might be the most famous restaurant on the planet right now, thanks to the South Park episode that made it look like a pink paradise on Earth, as well as the upcoming, critically acclaimed documentary, which chronicles Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s Kitchen Nightmares-esque efforts to restore the tragically shuttered Colorado institution.
The famed Mexican eatery re-opened its doors back in 2023, but it’s technically been in a “beta-testing” phase this whole time, meaning that those wanting to wolf down tacos while watching cliff divers had to try and score an invite via a lottery system, in which names were randomly selected from a lengthy waitlist. Kind of like scoring a golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, but without all of the child endangerment.
But it was recently announced that reservations would finally be made available to the public beginning today, Monday, September 16th.

As of September 2024, "South Park" has aired 328 episodes over 26 seasons. Not all of these episodes are winners, but there've been enough classics to make it seem wild for anyone to think they could narrow it down to just a top 10. Nevertheless, I'm going to try, and all I ask is that you show me some grace when I inevitably exclude some of your favorites.
For full disclosure, I should confess that I am a big fan of Butters, Tweek, and pre-Tegridy Farms Randy, so don't be surprised if they seem a little over-represented. I also still hold a grudge against Cartman for eating all the skin off those KFC wings, so I'm not gonna include many episodes where Cartman gets a win. I prefer the episodes where Cartman suffers or is punished for his lifetime of horrendous behavior. In other words, "With Apologies to Jesse Jackson" is getting snubbed here,...

Chicago – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on Wbgr-fm on September 12th, reviewing the new documentary “¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!” In limited release on September 13th (see local listings).
Rating: 3.5/5.0
Trey Parker and Matt Stone of “South Park” and “The Book of Mormon” for some reason (mostly nostalgia) purchase the Denver-based Mexican themed restaurant Casa Bonita. But it’s not just any Mexican Restaurant, it’s a bizarre mishmash of tunnels, animatronic mascots, puppet shows, people in costumes running around and yes, cliff divers in a real waterfall pool, which is all available around and during the dining experience. When the reality of being restaurant owners sets into the wacky pair, an original six million dollar renovation budget starts to multiply into many times that sum.
”¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!” is in select theaters on September 13th, see local listings, and on Paramount+ later this fall.
