DESPERATE ACQUAINTANCES sets the mood for three friends: Yngve, Anders and Terje to finally vent their feelings of masculinity on each other. They have been very shy about doing this, but after one of them ends up in a mental institution, things start to change. Secrets unrevealed for 12 or more years finally come out. Very funny and bizarre situations pack this unusual buddy film, which has been playing the independent and gay film festival circuit for the past year or so. Don't miss it if it comes near you. Just beware, it is a gab-fest, so more than the usual reading of subtitles is absolutely required (unless you're fluent in colloquial Norwegian). An original.
