Rick Marx hid behind his pen name of "Lou Meyers" for the spare but effective script for this porn movie made by Paul Thomas starring the lovely Lene (who starred for the director in the soft-core film "The Pamela Principle" soon after). It's worth rediscovering.
An example of the once-popular Couples genre I call Lifestyle Porn, the deceptively simple movie takes place at a vast mansion used as a club named "Blind Spot" by mean entrepreneur Steven St. Croix, given to wearing loud sports jackets. His employees are called "dancers", led by featured Lene, and seem to be glorified B-girls having sex with the well-dressed clientele. I would have preferred a nightclub set for the setting, but as with many porn shoots a mansion is easier to rent and dress up a bit as a practical location. (Back in the day I used to imagine these mansions were owned by the porn producers based on their ill-gotten gains from the industry, but that's just me and my mind at idle moments.)
Not much happens, except Mark Davis (epitome of a Couples Romance hero with a full head of hair, back before his baldie image) visits one day and falls for Lene. She plays hard to get but a romance develops nonetheless over the objections of boss Steven (who doesn't want her taking any time out from her duties).
The coolly staged by PT sex scenes are arousing and shot in a manner that, together with the club stagings, lends itself to a soft-core Pay- Cable version, the reason why Vivid and PT shot such features on 35mm film, and likely shown back in the day on the Playboy Channel. IMDb lists 57 minutes as running time, meaning soft-core version, while the Vivid XXX release last 72.
Only drawback here is wasting the talent of Dyanna Lauren, mere window dressing and not in any boy/girl scenes early in her career -she became the enduring superstar. Other male humper besides Davis and St. Croix is the obscure Paul Morgan in a non-role.
Trick ending is terrific, well set-up by the visuals but managing to fool me satisfyingly.
