The Ranger of her dreams
As an Indian chief Thomas Gomez borrows a bit from his portrayal of a Canadian Indian in the Tyrone Power film Pony Soldier for this Laredo episode. In this Laredo story Gomez is besieging a wagon train going through his land. Captain Parmalee has the task of defusing the situation.
He doesn't send his best men, he sends what's available, in this case William Smith and Neville Brand. Smith to be sure is steeped in Indian lore, but he does have his own way. Brand is just the rambunctious Reese Bennett.
Gomez agrees to a lot of terms, but one thing though. He's got marriage for his daughter Peggy Mondo in mind. And Mondo has her eye set on Neville Brand, then William Smith. That upsets young brave Larry Chance who's been courting Mondo.
Peace does break out, but Mondo and Gomez walk away with quite a bit of loot. You'll have to watch this episode to see how they do it.
