Mindless surfer comedy
Apparently not much surfing is in this film and it's very loosely a comedy. Nothing is exactly clever, witty or even funny. It feels more so like a loose documentary about surfing. Matthew McConaughey plays his role as expected. The other characters don't make much of an impression.
The film definitely isn't great but has a certain feel good charm about it that's mildly entertaining. The slight twist in the end is something to keep watching for.
Surfer, Dude has a runtime of one hour twenty five minutes and the storyline doesn't exactly go anywhere but as been said there is an interest in McConaughey's character, Steve Addington. There are several scenes of pool party type scenes with women in bikinis and several showing skin. Lastly it has a 'summer love' fling thing going on and it's just an all around calm, laid-back kind of feel to it.
