Bollywood celebrities took to social media to mourn the demise of casting director and producer Seher Aly Latif. Latif, who was in her early 40s, reportedly succumbed to a cardiac arrest in a city hospital on Monday. She worked as a casting director on films like "The Lunchbox" and "Durgamati", and co-founded Mutant Films, an independent film production company.

Many actors, filmmakers and casting directors mourned her demise on social media.

Her casting director credits include “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” and its sequel “Million Dollar Arm,” as well as recent Bollywood films such as “Shakuntala Devi” and “Durgamati: The Myth.”

Latif’s credits for casting in India include “Eat Pray Love,” “Zero Dark Thirty,” “McMafia,” “Sense8,” “Furious 7” and “The Hundred-Foot Journey.”

Along with her associate Shivani Saran, Latif founded Mutant Films in 2016. The company produced Netflix film “Maska,” Netflix series “Bhaag Beanie Bhaag” and also co-produced the sports drama “Gold,” starring Akshay Kumar.

New Delhi, March 23 (Ians) Filmmaker G. Ashok has shared the reason why he feels his Bollywood debut film "Durgamati" did not do as well as its original Telugu version "Bhaagamathie", which was also directed by him. He feels the film didn't do well because the Hindi version went directly to Ott and did not have a theatrical release.

"Theatrical release," Ashok cites as reason while talking to Ians when we ask him why "Durgamati" fared below expectaions. He adds: "Due to unprecedented times, we unfortunately couldn't release the film in theatres. Durgamati's strength is its horror element, and horror is only enjoyed with good sound in dark rooms like in theatres."

New Delhi, Dec 10 (Ians) Bollywood actress Mahie Gill says she puts in efforts to ensure that she does not end up repeating herself in the roles that she chooses to do.

"What started happening was that after Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster I started getting similar roles. So I felt that if I do the same things, everything will finish," Mahie told Ians.

Repetition gets boring after a point, she stressed.

"So, there is an effort that I don't do the same things, so that people tell me later on that I have done something different. Otherwise people get used to it and things become boring -- for an actor as well as for people," she added.

"Akshay (Kumar) sir gives you a lot of freedom as an actor. Makers of this film thought that I could do it, so he (Akshay Kumar) never interfered in my performance. Of course my director (G. Actress Bhumi Pednekar, who will next be seen in the heroine-centric horror film "Durgavati", notes how this is the first time in her career that she will carry an the entire film on her shoulders. She adds that she doesnt feel much pressure about the fact.

"I am shooting for 'Durgavati' in Bhopal. It's a very new narrative and a new story for me. I am carrying the entire film on my shoulders for the first time and really amazing people are associated with this film, so it's going really well," said Bhumi, while interacting with the media at fashion photographer Dabboo Ratnani's 2020 calendar launch.

Actress Bhumi Pednekar says she has never consulted any dietician or nutritionist, and she has always followed one rule -- "eating homemade food".

"I am extremely thrilled to engage in a live cooking session for the first time, as it is known that food makes me happy. I have always been a healthy kid and I personally love cooking and have never deprived myself from eating ghee, butter, etc, in moderation," said Bhumi.
