The story revolves between two personalities with so much of hatred and ego...their clashes are well showcased in this movie...method acting style of both Prithviraj and Biju menon are very much interesting..the dialogues delivered are very powerful and exciting...the background music are played whenever it is necessary and it is beautiful...this movie gives a great theatrical experience and worth your money..

Watch this movie for Amazing performance of Ayappan, Koshi,Kurien, mrs Ayappan, mrs Koshi and kumarettan.. Its a class movie presented in a mass way. Strong performance by lead and supporting actors , good screenplay and good bgm. Most scenes have been shot in realistic way and fight scene are powerful and seems to be shot without much rope tricks and vfx. Movie has captured beauty of Attappadi well and most scenes are shot in nature with lot of greenery. Songs are good, specially the tribal song. Movie is about human emotions of pride vs ego vs anger vs vengence vs arrogance vs rich vs poor. Over all a good movie, worth watching for the performances. Special mentions- actor who plays ayyappan's wife, Ayyappan's senior officer, Koshi's driver, Ayyappan's colleagues at police station. We know Prthvi and Biju are too good so not mentioning specifically :)
Felt the storyline very similar to 'Driving License'. Still liked the movie. As a flaw to point out, the film is a bit lengthy around 3 hrs, could have made it short. Apart from that, 'AK' is a stunning movie showcasing the brilliance in film making. The acting was terrific from all the cast, especially Biju menon, Prithviraj and Ranjith. One of the must watch movie in recent times. Won't get disappointed.

One of the reason I love malayalam movie as a malayalee is that fights are so realistic with no over the top jumping, flipping. Movies with exaggerated fight scenes kills the whole movie experience for me even if they have content. It makes a movie fake.
AK is a good film. love the fights. love the locations. love the simple costumes. Great work.

AK is a duel between rich and poor. We the audience will support both. That's where the script wins. It keeps us on the edge of our seats to see who wins this duel. Eventhough the around 3 hour length wears a little, we don't get bored because of the excellent performance of the duel stars and very good script writing. Prithviraj and Biju Menon were l fighting in real life to be the best actor in the movie and both of them wins. The dialogues are also very good. The music was also good to bring that wilderness feel in Attapadi. The movie is similar to Driving License which also starred Prithviraj but AK is a better version of DL. Ranjith also did a very good job in a supporting role and his character was also developed in a good manner as with the two leads. The action choreography was top notch and one of the best in Mollywood in recent times. Overall, AK is a good match and you won't be wasting time watching this lengthy movie.
Ayyappanum Koshiyum may remind you somewhat of the movie Driving license. But this one is more masculine, more structured and shows the wild side of man. If you are looking for a mass entertainer, search no more. This might just be the one that you are looking for. The director has succeeded in his story telling and delivers a good film. Biju menon and Prithviraj excels in their roles and delivers a stellar performance. This film has all the right ingredients to hold you captive in your seats for the full Two hours and fifty seven minutes.

Sachy's latest flick a ride through the forest where two wild elephants lock horns #ayyappanumkoshiyum is an engaging script. #Sachy crafts it well again with two protaganist #bijumenon and #prithviraj. Amidst mass punch dialogues and performance actor #ranjith grabs the limelight too. A blend of #Nanjamma vocal and #jakesbejoy music gives lifts up the movie. Every character has its importance and stands out well. #Ayyapanumkoshiyum is worth a watch on big screen.
Thumbs up for Ayyapan Koshy season.
In the most basic of terms, Driving License and Ayyapanum Koshiyum share the same fundamental premise. But, the fundamental premise has been taken into two separate and diverse paths each brilliantly executed.
While Driving License was more of about the brittle egos of its main characters and their unwillingness to let go, AyyKos is more about morality. How one man working within the confines of the law errs on one account resulting in his life being thrown into chaos by the arrogant and entitled Koshy.
There is a complex interaction of characters especially the driver, the tribal wife and the father. How, inspite of wanting to end it all, circumstances still collude to add fuel to the fire. Friends who do more good than harm, a hero worshiping cop who is trying to help his idol are just further cogs in this finely tuned engine which delivers a powerful performance with the leads stealing the show.

This movie is Biju Menon master class, Prithviraj didn't have to act, just played his real life arrogance.
There is a continuous background music that is so annoying. This ridiculously loud and annoying music overshadowed the dialogues. This otherwise ok movie is spoiled by annoying music score throughout the movie. Why should there be any background music when the actors are displaying their emotions through dialogues?

It's pure, almost sadistic joy to watch the story unfold and slip into total chaos in Ayyappanum Koshiyum (Ayyappan and Koshy; given names in Malayalam) where a grim-looking police officer with a sinister past named Ayyappan (Biju Menon) locks horns with an influential, alcoholic ex-army businessman Koshy (Prithviraj) after the latter gets into trouble with the law for possessing liquor while travelling through a dry area. The drama begins without preamble and lets the effervescent male ego take the baton ahead as the two adults get into the rink to fight it off even as a tit-for-tat game emerges between them that sees collateral damage of the highest order. It is rather difficult to describe the ways in which these two characters behave but you are bound to get it from the first frame as the thirst for revenge quickly encapsulates them, one after other. Both Menon and Prithviraj put up a show that is hard to resist, backed with Sachy's linear storytelling and thumping music by Jakes Bejoy that does not ever get dull despite the 3-hour running time tag. And when a drama - that although tends to become repetitive in the middle - manages to keep you glued to the screen for such a long time with some terrific sequences of violence, it should be praised and watched on the big screen. But even then, Ayyappanum Koshiyum is not just about the male ego, but also aspires to describe the workings of it which is where Ranjith's father character comes and takes you by the collar. Also notable is the character played by Gauri Nanda and the fluid performances of Sabumon and Anil Nedumangad. Watch it because it is a rare feat for Malayalam cinema. TN.
The lead cast nailed it big time , predictable yet enjoyable , loved every bit of it
Fabulous acting by Prithviraj and Biju Menon. Nice story and every actor of this movie has done a great job.

- Watched the movie in Amazon prime. Running time is about 2 hr 50 minutes.
- Movie started really good and was entertaining till the first half. Second half is good but there is slight lag in the second half and felt elongated.
- Prithviraj and Biju Menon were awesome. Anil Nedumangadu was as good as Prithvi and Biju Menon in this movie. Other characters like Kannama, Jessy, Actor who played Prithvi's driver, other policemen were good.
- The tone of movie is similar to recently released movie Driving License. If asked for a comparison I would say this movie fell little behind Driving License.
- Final Verdict: A decent watch.

No pyrotechnic,no impossible stunts, Ayyappanum Koshiyum will be remembered for its narration of a simple yet brilliantly written thrilling story, which slowly burned up to a satisfactory end for the audiences. With a script like that, it will be hard to feel bore even though it is about 3 hours long, as it is one of those "you can't miss any moment" type of experience where every single second slowly but steadily leads to something worth waiting for.
Thoroughly enjoyed the clash between demons 👿👿
Sachy I loved your writing skill, it really touches our hearts

Ayyappan Nair, a senior police officer and Koshy Kurian, a retired havildar, lock horns in a situation made to go ugly. The film is almost literally 3 hours of dog fight between Ayyappan and Koshy, leading to a abrupt, divisive climax.
Ayyappanum Koshiyum is a tough nut to crack. Mainly because the film can become a commercial entertainer to many while still being bound to the unconventional style of plot advancing that has become a 'style' among new and veteran directors. It is by no means a bad film. It's great. But kind of falls apart when you think of what the director wanted to achieve with this movie. And he nearly does.
Prithviraj And Biju Menon were class apart. It was brutal, funny and refreshing to see two big names going in a dirty rag fight in the mud. Kudos to both. Renjith was above par as the gutsy dad of Koshy, coming off as quite corny in the later half performance. All other performances were good. Considering how Sachy used the 'realism meets fantastical scenarios' tool here, it was pretty surprising how good the secondary performances were.
Jakes Bejoy went all out in this film. His soundtrack and songs could've been the best thing the film had, of all the 'best' things. I wouldn't say it was Jake's best though. Ranam was quite beautiful and still stands as his defining work.
Sachy's offbeat mass entertainer will be a game changer for the industry. Truly a saturated industry in terms of 'mass' films, Ayyappanum Koshiyum is more than just refreshing.

A short plot stretched for no apparent reason. 2.5 hours of runtime for such a simple plot. Would've been a better film of it had a b plot or something of that sort. It was very entertaining in the begining but the scenes and settings keep repeating several times to fill in the duration. The movie is just too long. Acting performances were great, music was good and cinematography was also pretty good, other than that it was just an average or below average movie.
5/10.

Sachy has already proved how talented a script writer he is...this was another experience from the anarkali team. Though a die hard fan of prithvi this movie made me stand with ayyappan Nair and hats off to the script writer. The plot as we know was just an ego clash between two people but was detailed and portrayed in a very engaging and thrilling manner. One time must watch movie.... The best part was their combo and especially the climax.
Mundoor madan was an awesome characterisation and all the characters were having a very detailed character graph

Movie is decent with its plot and screenplay
There is no story to discuss... In short a typical encounter of 2 wild animals... Should esaily be nominated for Oscars for its sheer brilliance of holding audience attention through out.
Biju is fine actor and prithviraj is in a transition phase and he is at his ease.
Renjith can play a typical godfather role in gangster movies
Music is top notch
Kerala has a winner from AK this year for any award that's there for offering....
A repeat watch for movie lovers and a saga of egoistic battle of two people...
