Prime Video today released the official trailer and key art for The Sticky, a fast-paced, dark comedy series from Blumhouse Television, inspired by a real-life heist that made global headlines in 2012, which saw more than $18 million worth of maple syrup stolen from Quebec’s national reserves.
From showrunners Brian Donovan and Ed Herro, The Sticky combines moments of culture-clash hilarity, edge-of-the-seat excitement, and heartbreaking drama. All six episodes premiere on Good December 6 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.
The Sticky follows Ruth Landry (three-time Emmy Award winner Margo Martindale), a tough, middle-aged maple syrup farmer who turns to crime when the bureaucratic authorities threaten to take away everything she loves.
She teams up with the hot-tempered Bostonian mobster (Chris Diamantopoulos) and a mild-mannered French-Canadian security guard (Guillaume Cyr) to carry out a multi-million-dollar heist on Quebec’s maple syrup surplus.

We're currently between seasons of The Boys, Prime Video's subversive superhero show about a world where superheroes are both real and completely awful. The fifth and final season of The Boys will likely air in 2026, wrapping up the story of the conflict between sociopathic superman Homelander and nigh-sociopathic superhero-hater Billy Butcher.
But Amazon has no intention of letting that be the end of things. It's already aired a first season of one spinoff show called Gen V, set at a college where young superheroes are trained to use their powers and avoid moral accountability for their actions. There's also a Spanish-language spinoff planned called The Boys: Mexico.
Finally, there's Vought Rising, a prequel series that will explore the foundations of Vought, the massive corporation behind a lot of the superheroes we come to meet and loathe on The Boys. Vought Rising will revolve around two characters we met on the original series: Soldier Boy,...

Sometimes, looking back can help with what’s coming next.
That was the message from Sony Pictures Television Studios president Katherine Pope on Wednesday during a keynote interview in Rome at the Italian confab Mia, in which she addressed everything from Season 5 of The Boys to calling for gaps between seasons to shrink.
Asked to apply her experience — which includes a decade at NBCUniversal, long before joining Sony more than two years ago — she said certain principles from the broadcast system could help inform a better way to produce in the future.
“There was a sense of time and money in the U.S. broadcast system,” she said. “You really had to get shows done. You did not have a choice. We’re now seeing the hangover of the boom times, and people will say they don’t know if they can do it for this amount of money or make the schedule.

Eric Kripke has a track record of producing highly successful shows, with his most recent work, The Boys, standing out as one of the best and most popular superhero series ever. Since its premiere on Amazon, the show has consistently pushed the boundaries of what can be shown on TV.
Season 4 of The Boys shattered viewership records and raised the stakes even higher than in previous seasons, leaving the world in chaos and evil seemingly poised to win. But the cast and crew promise that the upcoming fifth and final season will be the wildest yet.
In an earlier interview with Variety, Kripke shared exciting production details for the final season and teased what the future holds for the The Boys universe beyond Season 5.
I know you’re in the writers’ room writing Season 5 now, so what is the timeline for shooting and when it will air?

Amazon’s The Boys TV series is slowly drawing towards its end, with the fifth season on the horizon. However, fans don’t need to be fraught since the creators are in no mood to end the franchise with the show. The satirical superhero show featured a bunch of intriguing characters who deserve to be explored.
Actress Aya Cash revealed in an interview that there are plans for a spin-off show with another popular co-star. Jensen Ackles plays Soldier Boy in the show while Cash portrays Stormfront. The duo will star in an upcoming series, Vought Rising, for which the actress claims the script is perfect.
The spin-off is expected to be a success
The Boys has been gaining a lot of attention from viewers ever since it premiered in 2019. Eric Kripke‘s superhero satire series is based on the comics of the same name created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.

It should go without saying that The Boys is one of the most well-liked superhero shows in the world. With each successive season, Eric Kripke’s vision for the television program managed to propel Garth Ennis’ dark and twisted take on the superhero genre to new heights, making it one of the most-watched television shows ever.

Spoilers for season 4 of "The Boys" to follow.
After four seasons of depravity, gnarly violence, extreme gore, gratuitous nudity and more brutal and heartbreaking sealife deaths than any modern superhero movie or TV show, "The Boys" is coming to an end with season 5. It makes sense, of course. Season 4 was a mean, bleak season of TV mired in misery. From the political satire that got too real to Homelander getting away with everything he could possibly imagine, and even a literal coup that all but disbands the titular "lads," there is only so much that "The Boys" can throw at its audience before it bears too strong a resemblance to the real world. Still, the show is doing a brilliant job of adapting its source material and making the story feel fresh and new while also following the comics.

Women are falling out of focus on the small screen. According to a new report on gender and hiring in TV presented by IMDbPro and ReFrame — an initiative of Sundance Institute and Wif — women lost gains made over the past several years in nearly every position analyzed.
Last year’s data found that women (or gender-diverse performers) accounted for 54 percent of lead roles, while the new report details a decrease of 13 percent to 41 percent. Also released as part of the study, ReFrame and IMDbPro award a Stamp to recognize gender-balanced hiring on television shows, and this year 77 of the 200 most popular TV and streaming series of 2023-24 earned the distinction (or 38.5 percent). The total represents a dip of 8.5 percent from last year, or 20 percent from a peak in 2020-21.

To quote Billy Butcher, season 4 of The Boys was diabolical. It was nothing like the comic books, and that’s more than okay. Most of the story wouldn’t work in TV show form. Thankfully, showrunner Eric Kripke and the creative team recognized this and made the appropriate changes.
If you’re a fan of the show, the upcoming final season is bittersweet. Unlike Supernatural, it’s doubtful The Boys goes on past season 5. Except for Butcher and Homelander’s fight, all the stories have been told. Plus, there are spinoffs like Gen V, The Boys: Mexico, and possibly more. Deadline reports that Kripke, “hopes to be involved in the expansion of the world, but not as a showrunner.”
The spinoffs aren’t the only things to look forward to. Let's look at what else we know about season 5 of The Boys.

Amazon Prime has had a string of successful comic book adaptations, with both The Boys and Invincible being major hits. Now, building on the success of The Boys, the streaming service released a spin-off series titled Gen V back in September 2023. The series ran for eight episodes in total and was yet another smashing hit for the streaming service, which – of course – led to the announcement of a second season.
The series suffered a major hit when one of its stars, Chance Perdomo, tragically died in a traffic accident not that long ago, but after a brief pause, the production of Season 2 continued, with the production deciding not to recast or replace Perdomo’s character as a sign of respect.
Now, while talking to the media at the San Diego Comic-Con, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke, who is overseeing the whole fictional universe, revealed that he had the chance to...

During this year’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, it was revealed that “The Boys” is getting another live-action spinoff, titled “Vought Rising.” With the massive success of both “The Boys” and its first spinoff, “Gen V,” it was no shock that Prime Video would want more. And hearing the showrunner talk about it, it sounds as if “Vought Rising” could be something special. Especially if you like noir tales.

With “Gen V” becoming an instant fan-favorite and season four of “The Boys” garnering some of the best viewership numbers the series has ever received, showrunner Eric Kripke and Amazon are doubling-down on superhero satire. At San Diego Comic-Con this past Friday, Prime Video announced they will be extending “The Boys” universe with a prequel series entitled “Vought Rising” starring Aya Cash, who played Stormfront in season two of the original series, and Jensen Ackles, who played Soldier Boy in season three.
The series will be set in 1950s New York City and in a recent interview with Variety, Kripke described it as a long-gestating project that is finally just coming to fruition now.
“We’ve actually had this idea in our pocket for a really long time,” Kripke said. “And in fact, when I went to Amazon, to pitch spinoffs, I came with two spinoffs, ‘Gen V’ and ‘Vought Rising.

“The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke says that newly announced spinoff series “Vought Rising” will be “‘L.A. Confidential’ with superheroes” — and that he’s been planning the prequel show, led by Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy and Aya Cash’s Stormfront, for quite a while.
“We’ve actually had this idea in our pocket for a really long time,” Kripke told Variety during an interview after the show’s Comic-Con panel Friday. “And in fact, when I went to Amazon, to pitch spinoffs, I came with two spinoffs, ‘Gen V’ and ‘Vought Rising.’ And at the time, they said, ‘Let’s start with “Gen V,”‘ and we’ll see how it goes and then maybe we’ll do ‘Rising.’ It turns out it went Ok. I’m just fascinated with the history of how we became who we became. ‘The Boys’ itself is basically a film noir. It’s like cops and robbers.

Does Homelander hate women?
As season 4 of The Boys came to a close, Homelander actor Antony Starr sat down with Vulture for a deep dive into what makes the evil Superman tick, and one question in particular seemed to provide a lot of clarity.
When the interviewer asserted that Homelander seems to hate women, Starr was quick to dissuade that notion, stating that the lab-built superhero has conflicting feelings when it comes to the opposite sex.
"I think it’s a little more complicated than that [Laughs]," said Starr.
In response to the interviewer's reference to Madelyn Stillwell, Queen Maeve, Sister Sage and Firecracker, he replied, "Across the board, those actresses that you listed — fantastic. It’s vitally important that you have a good rapport with the people you’re working with, particularly when you’re dealing with this very strange Oedipal complex Homelander has."

Spoilers for "The Boys" to follow.
"The Boys" season 4 is making the best use of its spin-off series "Gen V." The season is not only incorporating the supe-killing virus developed during "Gen V" season 1, but now some familiar faces are joining the party. Among them is the supe detective Robert Vernon/Tek Knight (Derek Wilson).
Introduced in "Gen V" episode 4, "The Whole Truth," Tek Knight debuted on "The Boys" itself in season 4, episode 5, "Beware The Jabberwock, My Son." The sixth and most recent episode, "Dirty Business," brings him back into focus as Hughie (Jack Quaid) goes undercover in Tek Knight's home: a stately manor.
"Gen V" already used Tek Knight as a Batman parody. On that show, his powers were established to be heightened senses that make him as observant as Sherlock Holmes or Adrian Monk. Unlike Batman, however, Tek Knight does have superpowers, but his are invisible ones. By...

Remember back at the beginning of this season when the weirdest thing we'd seen was a man giving himself the Human Centipede treatment?
Yeah, me too.
The Boys keeps us on our toes as usual with its latest episode, providing us with scenes no one asked for and no one will forget anytime soon.
And look, I'm not here to kinkshame. But after that dungeon scene, I think we've all earned the right to kink-question.
The episode started off on a dark note, with Butcher torturing Samir while Kessler watched, trying to convince him to make more of the supe-killing virus they need to stop Homelander.
Plus, Frenchie is still in prison, which is a bummer for everyone but especially Kimiko, who desperately misses her friend.

Spoilers for "The Boys" season 4 follow.
"The Boys" season 4 has been teeing up that Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) is seeking a supe-killing virus, one introduced on season 1 of spin-off series "Gen V" (set between seasons 3 and 4 of "The Boys").
The fifth and latest episode — "Beware the Jabberwock, My Son" — sees the Boys going after the virus, which Butcher calls "the answer to our prayers." Vice President Elect Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) got her hands on the remaining virus samples in "Gen V" and this episode reveals she's overseeing further experiments with it. The Boys recruit former Vought International CEO, and Neuman's adoptive father, Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito) to help them track down Neuman's secret lab.
The virus isn't the only "Gen V" connection; two of that show's main cast members show up in "Beware the Jabberwock, My Son." "Gen V" is set in a superhero college, Godolkin University, and...

This article contains spoilers for The Boys season 4 episode 5.
Prime Video’s The Boys always seemed like a prime candidate for spinoffs, which it eventually received in the form of both animated anthology The Boys Presents: Diabolical and college dramedy Gen V. Now these two shows have seeped into the consciousness of The Boys season 4, with the former giving us clues into Billy Butcher’s fate, and the latter building up anticipation for a potential supe-destroying virus that was finally revealed in the latest episode, “Beware the Jabberwock, My Son.”
As the intersection of these three shows starts to become tangible, The Boys creator Eric Kripke hopes that he doesn’t overwhelm fans with too many plot points. He spoke with Den of Geek about his excitement and carefully calculated intentions surrounding The Boys’ expanded world in an exclusive interview.
“It was really fun [seeing the shows intersect],” Kripke says. “I mean, obviously, now...

The Boys episode 5 lampoons Disney and we finally see those V’d-up chickens the trailer teased.
Spoiler warning! These reviews will be spoiler-free for the week in question, but will discuss previous seasons and episodes in detail.
There are days when I can’t quite believe this is my job. It tends to be the days when I get to write the words “V’d-up chickens and flying sheep”. Today is one of those days.
The trailer for The Boys season 4 teased farm animals that had been, shall we say, enhanced with Compound V, the serum which gives you superpowers. In the trailer, we saw a superpowered chicken burst through some poor guy’s chest and we’ve finally arrived at the episode that gives us a whole load of animals with superpowers.
Needless to say, I was a big fan of this episode.
But first, the episode opens with V52 Expo,...

In a development that’s sure to excite fans of both “Supernatural” and “The Boys,” discussions are underway for Jared Padalecki to make an appearance in the fifth and final season of Amazon Prime Video’s hit superhero satire. Eric Kripke, creator of both shows, has confirmed that talks are actively ongoing, potentially setting the stage for a reunion between Padalecki and his former “Supernatural” co-star Jensen Ackles.
Kripke, speaking to Entertainment Weekly, expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of bringing Padalecki into “The Boys” universe. “The value of that is to break the internet,” Kripke said. “So we’ll see whether it’s right for the story. But yes, it’s occurred to me that putting those two in a scene together would destroy much of the world, and that’s appealing.”
The timing seems fortuitous, as Padalecki’s schedule has recently opened up following the unexpected cancellation of his...
