Piet is a girl living within a living group. Piet calls the children help line and tells about her troubles. The receiver Ivo is baffled, mostly about Piet and her friend's plan to murder Bert, the leader of the living group.
Piet is worried: the murder of community leader Bert has failed, there are no more clean pants, Piet's mother is suffering from depression and a nuclear power plant has exploded in Russia.
Apparently something very sad has happened in the past. Something the living group doesn't talk about. But sadness cannot stand silence: the less said about it the bigger it becomes.
Piet's mother is more depressed than ever and Bert is stressed because he is heartbroken with his novel. Fortunately, Piet has a new girlfriend: Melissa. When Piet goes home with Melissa, she makes an incredible discovery there.
Piet flees to the only place where she feels safe: Melissa's house. There she is taken care of by Ivo. When Bert comes to pick Piet up, Ivo finally learns about the grief the living group has been carrying for years.
Piet has to go into therapy with one Machiel, who he says has multiple certificates and is determined to cure Piet of her "delusions. Piet feels lonelier and sadder than ever, and Donnie seems to be moving further away from her.
If the residential group wants the children back, the adults will first have to meet with Youth Care. Are they fit to raise children? Social worker Machiel has his doubts.
The living group travels exuberantly to Gorinchem, to participate in his favorite game show. There Bert faces a bitter disappointment: Even before they can slide down the soap ramp, the tub is rejected due to technical defects.
