Mitch Pileggi (Bonham Walker) appeared on several episodes of Supernatural as Samuel Campbell, Dean and Sam's maternal grandfather. Additionally, Kansas plays their song "Carry on Wayward Son," which was played during the season finale of almost every season of Supernatural. Except season one finale.

When Walker (Jared Padalecki) tells Geri (Odette Annable) that Kansas is playing the fair, she says, "Kansas? Dust in the Wind, Kansas?" He incredulously responds, "Wait, that's the song you go to?" Jensen Ackles directed this episode, and as most people know he and Jared were in Supernatural together for 15 years. In the beginning of the episode, the Walkers find this green cooler in Cordi's stuff and pull out a beer from it. The green cooler was a staple in the Supernatural show and the fake beer brand was the brand the brothers drank in Supernatural.
