Tequila was a Spanish-Argentine band founded in Madrid around 1976, formed by the musicians Ariel Rot (guitar), Alejo Stivel (vocals), Julián Infante (guitar), Felipe Lipe (bass) and Manolo Iglesias (drums) and one of the groups of most popular pop-rock in the first years of democracy in Spain. Tequila emerged before the Madrid movement, after the Franco regime, contributing a rock with influences from artists such as Chuck Berry and, above all, The Rolling Stones as well as Argentine rock groups, sounding then very different from urban rock groups, then predominant on the national scene. Themes like Salta!, Quiero besarte, Dime que me quieres or Rock and Roll en la plaza del pueblo, catapulted the five members of Tequila to stardom.
