Based on true events, a big eye opener for humans who tries to disturb the nature. Director Richie Mehta takes you through wildest wildlife journey, with a strong story and immense moral.
Nimisha will stun you with her powerful acting. Roshan and Dibyendu are a strong supporting cast.
Nature takes care of itself, heals itself and rejuvenates. Humans are just part of it! This is the main theme and it definitely educates us on how to let live the wildlife, nature and just support it than overtake it. Lots of learnings.
Gripping thriller with the right set of ending that will shake the underlying system with grit and honesty.

This series is in spirits of Sherni movie by slow pacing of story. Great acting all the casts. The series feels were real as we watch through.
The original audio version makes the series more real and believable with different languages. Dubbed version will really take away the feel and intensity of wildlife crimes.
However, this series will not liked by many Indian watchers as they're not well versed in watching such shows for real issue. Maybe entertaining cut for mass audience will work to attract larger audience.
In one of the main posters, tusks are missing for the elephant. I wonder if it meant to depict that elephant can survive in the forest if they don't have them? Or that was just error by marketing/poster design team?
Such series are much required for the generations to come. Hope more such series are created.

Richie Mehta's 'Poacher' beautifully depicts the hard-hitting reality of Indian wildlife conservation and its perilous poaching. The ensemble cast boasts Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, and others who have done a stellar job. The episodes are almost 48 minutes on average, with a gripping screenplay and captivating cinematography. This is not a typical thriller that we're used to seeing but hooks the audience from the very first episode. The VFX shots of wild animals are excellent. You will definitely fall in love with wildlife and the forest after completing the series. This is a must-watch series without an iota of doubt.

I didn't see any other film or series made such an effective piece of art on saving wild life.
I will always want to be a film maker and some how the creator of the series inspired me a lot earlier through Delhi crimes S1 and now with this.
I know this series will be watched by the upcoming generations and could a massive movie sensation for coming years.
The cinematographer and music director did something very good I must say.
The acting was very good from all.
Love for all the persons behind the screen.
Keep doing the good works!!
Love on behalf of all the wild species of the planet.
Regards.

I am not a big fan of Indian movies or series - and that includes Malayalam - especially not a fan of the song and dance genres which dominate Indian Cinema.
But this series took me by surprise - story based on hard-hitting facts - excellent acting without a hint of overacting - solid character development - all culminating in a very realistic rendition of the wildlife and poaching world and all the while keeping me on the edge of my seat.
Wouldnt be wrong to say its a great Indian thriller genre series.
Also gave me a newfound respect for those who have dedicated their lives to preserving nature and wildlife.

I enjoyed this so much. Started off curious. Ended on the edge of my seat. I wasn't sure about the dubbed version at first glance (english). However the longer I watched the less noticable it was. I finished the series with joy and with tears in my eyes. The cinematography was well done. The story was well said. The characters were likeable and there was memorable humor and emotion. There's something to be said about a film / series that touches your heart so deeply. Almost like I was meant to watch this. By the end of it I said to myself "I want to help animals, that's it, that's what I want for my life" Good job.

Thanks Richie Mehta for another amazing show with loads of great message and indeed thrilling experience.
Superb direction, cinematography, screen play and versatile performances, the show deserves a big applaud.
The message covering importance of forests and wildlife through good story telling is really appealing. End of it I felt, what can be more brutal than killing such magnificent and vital creatures for just decorating substances. It is true I feel the market which is main source of creating poachers should be destroyed to end this cruel act.
The real forest and creature shoots gave a very realistic touch. Screenplays showing decaying body of the elephants while starting each episode gives us goose bumps. And at the same time adding the beautiful nature scenes ike mist filled green mountains, birds flying, also portraying birds eye view os our concrete jungles through a bird flying on top and lot more.
One of the scenes in the storytelling I loved the most is when of the poaching supporter convict askss forest officer what is their problem if a few elephants are killed, and she/they responds how important elephants are to protect the nature, like their waste giving manure, their walk controlling weeds growth, their gifted memory power was indeed a nice way of conveying the message.
Of course the gripping story does not let you stop till end even if it meant burning sleep hour 😊
Cannot stop from mentioning the performance of the ensemble casts - Dibyendu, Nimisha, Roshan and all the actors including small roles played by negative and positive artists portrayed their characters at its best. Cheers to cast and crew. I thank whole heartedly to the entire team for this wonderful show.
One star is less than full, only point I felt was if there was a little more lighting on the actors screenplay. It was a bit too dark to see their expressions fully.

This webseries will keep you on the edge of your seats on so many moments. Really awesome cinematography and direction. How every scene includes animals in wild or in cities is the highlight of the show. I would highly recommend this webseries to everyone and it shows how poaching industry is destroying the delicate ecosystem of our planet. The buyers are equally to be blamed for the killing of these innocent species. The ending scene was so gut wrenching and the show also provided vital information about elephants and their traits like an elephant needs 14 hours of walk everyday to stay healthy and elephants are social animals, they need their herds. I wonder why we humans domesticate them for using labour and keeping them in shackles for temples.

Kudos to the team for creating a film centered around wildlife. Despite the potential to make this series family-friendly, they opted for a different approach. The characters frequently use strong language, which may not appeal to all viewers. Additionally, the inclusion of a vulgar ivory artifact in three scenes seemed unnecessary. The series could have benefited from a more balanced approach, ensuring it caters to a wider audience while still maintaining its unique storytelling style. Despite these criticisms, the series will spark conversation and bring attention to the often overlooked aspects of wildlife preservation.

After a very long time i sat with my family and watched this series without any hesitation of skipping a single scene which could be inappropriate. Each and every character have played their role beautifully without any doubt. Highly recommend this to everyone irrespective of age. More of such work should be done to capture the essence of life which just goes non captured among the hullabaloo of irrelevant movies.
Now coming to the cast - Nimisha has done an extremely superb job in the movie. She has been the best with her acting at each and every episode. Dibyendu seems to be so natural as always. I have hardly seen any movie/web series where he has not been anywhere close to being the best. I honestly want him to do more and more work so that we can see some good acting which seems to be rare these days.

The director, cameraman of this series seems to hate daylight or tube light. The entire series, ALL scenes are shot in weird ultra dark lighting conditions, where you are hardly able to see the faces of people. Some sort of utopian world without bright light.
The story is presented well, but this is the first series which put me off because of continuous staring at dark screen, with just voices coming out of it. One might as well present the story on radio.
6 of ten.

Kerala is known for its greenery, however the entire series is shot in low light and this ruined the viewing experience.
Dubbing is nothing less than horrible. The original language is Malayalam, however the dialogues and the way it's delivered, the artists who have dubbed, everything was sloppy. It almost sounded like people who have no idea of how the language is spoken have dubbed for a few characters.
There are certain scenes featuring the lead characters and their acting seems forced and unnatural. Not sure if Nimisha's character has been written this bad or if she forgot how to act. The entire series seems like it has been put together in a hurry.

A lots of emotion in series guilt, regret to poacher's daughters of a officer, political pressure ,and greed of the money which turns to cruelty of animals.
A dialogue by Dibyendu Bhattacharya in a series while the arres from airport, which is quite good.
We all do politics in whole life of work, and we forgot agenda of the work.
I think must be watched, after 6 episode series climax started in a slow manner, they completely shown ,how they do,why they do, and why it should be stopped.
Series Is only focus on elephant teeth smuggling, but I think there must be scope for different animals Direction, story, and animal scenes are so much real, vfx is quite good.
Series doesn't leave you be to left till you watched all episodes.

Good story telling... Good acting and star cast is simply amazing... Story revolves around illegal hunting of animals especially elephants in Kerala and surrounding forests...
Sure there are holes in the story...but done distub the flow of the story... Yet times it feels the story is slow and yet times it's fast and thrilling... But doesn't make you loose the interest in the show. Ending would have been much better... It feels like director is the rush to complete and end the show quick and simple...
This needs to be watched by everyone..... This also show case the love and care Kerala people have for amazing animals like elephant...

I generally dont review on any films ornseries but this series made me do that. I... really liked this series. Watched with my family. Direction and photography is phenomenal. I beg everyone to please watch it.. what humans have done to wildlife is beyond imagination...we still dont realise the gravity of our destruction we are doing to mother nature.... every frame , every scene of the series is just amazing and last scene of series will definitely make u cry if u still have any emotions left ....this series will definitely hit u hard to the core if you really have feelings about wildlife.
One dialogue inrwlly liked most was , elephants are paying the price of living with humans in same era...

Please watch this series and get closer to dark sides of society who are ready to go low as much as they can
You will definitely enjoy this.

Poacher is a gripping wildlife series that delves deep into the heart of Kerala's forests, uncovering the challenges and triumphs of conservation efforts. With stunning visuals and heart-pounding suspense, each episode immerses viewers in the thrill of the hunt while shedding light on the importance of protecting our natural heritage. From the relentless pursuit of poachers to heartwarming rescues of endangered species, this series is a testament to the dedication and bravery of Kerala's forest department. With its captivating storytelling and powerful message, Operation Shikkar(Poacher) earns a well-deserved 9 stars for its exceptional portrayal of wildlife conservation.

I second the other review that said the director and camera man hate daylight and tube light. What is the point of making every scene dark, making it hard to see people? Even people playing outside, a party, an office, everything is shot in twilight mode. And what is with people not smiling? Can't someone be competent and conduct a serious investigation if they happen to smile once in a while? This is really pretentious that every scene is deliberately made dark and dull as if shooting in good light will somehow make it descend from the lofty standards the director wants.
The actors are great, story is fresh, I just am put off by the pretentious camera work and direction. Look at family man to see how a serious investigation can be portrayed without re-creating old award movie style frames.

Compelling storyline, beautiful cinematography, excellent acting. Had my heart broken many times while watching Poachers, but nothing prepared me for the end scene. It's satisfying to know subjects such as poaching and nature conservation are being presented on such a big platform and are loved by audience world wide. The research behind the story is admirable. Not to mention the picturesque locations of Kerala where majority of the filming was done. Not a single dull moment, each frame transfers you to the beautiful lush green jungles of Kerala, make you feel the anger and desperation felt by the rangers.

This is one of the best web series i have ever seen which is directed by a Indian. If you ask me to give markes out of 100 then I am sure that I will atleast give them 105. And while watching it in the original audio Malayalam, you will love it. Seriously great work by the director, actory and the visual were awesome. Animal lovers would love this web series. It's almost a documentry on real thing but the way it have been picturised is best in class, I started it watching at 0300 hours as I had disturbance in sleep and as when I felt that it's morning, the series was over as I watched it nonstop with complete interest. Recommended to all.

Imagine the emerald embrace of the Kerala wilderness, a symphony of chirping insects and rustling leaves masking a darker melody! This is the world of "Poacher," a series that transcends mere entertainment, morphing into a poignant exploration of human duality set against the backdrop of a breathtaking yet threatened ecosystem.
Richie Mehta's "Poacher" is a poignant symphony of suspense and social commentary, set against the lush backdrop of the Kerala wilderness. It's a story woven with the threads of a dedicated forest officer, Mala Jogi (brilliantly embodied by Nimisha Sajayan), as she navigates the treacherous terrain of dismantling a notorious elephant poaching ring. Director Mehta, a maestro of evocative storytelling, paints a picture where the beauty of the natural world collides with the stark reality of human greed.
The ensemble cast is nothing short of phenomenal.
With each measured expression and thoughtful delivery, Dibyendu Bhattacharya's nuanced performance compels the audience to connect with the emotional undercurrents of Neel's character.
Roshan Mathew brings a refreshing earnestness to the role of Alan, the wildlife expert who joins the fight against poachers. His performance seamlessly blends naivety with a growing sense of determination.
The cinematography is a visual poem, capturing the breathtaking majesty of the jungle while also holding a mirror to the brutal consequences of poaching. Each frame is meticulously crafted, drawing the audience into the heart of the conflict.
"Poacher" transcends the boundaries of a mere crime drama. It's a 'call to action' and a stark reminder of the interconnectedness of our world and the consequences of unchecked greed.
It transforms into a powerful social commentary, urging viewers to confront the devastating impact of wildlife trafficking on both the environment and the delicate balance of the ecosystem.
We witness the unwavering dedication of forest officers, who risk their lives to become shields against an insidious and well-entrenched web of criminality. The series doesn't shy away from showcasing the emotional toll this battle takes on these brave protectors.
This is a story that lingers long after the final scene. It is a potent blend of suspense, social commentary, and breathtaking visuals, leaving a lasting impression on viewers who care deeply about the future of our planet.

Real theme of Story to save and preserve the wild life, people connected with it and authoritative limitations and system flaws have been well portrayed.
Animal graphic simulations and visuals are so real and flawless.
Role of Dibyendu Neel in a commanding role justified with decent strategy of screenplay and thought process.
Ideally end of season this season handing over this case to CBI to such an encouraging role to deep dive and investigate this case could have added further interest and demand watch like Family Man & indeed, hoping Riche Mehta must have through through.
1. Replicating dupe interrogation from Kay Kay Menon's Rahasya 2. Carrying Male organ while transporting Ivories.. Are markable fun factors..
Binge watch..👍
