I have not read the Sune books which this series is based on, and any similarities and differences with the books are not addressed in this review.

I was quite disappointed when I watched this show which has quite an impressive cast of actors. Liv Mjönes, Filip Berg and Norwegian Sven Nordin are just some of the well-known actors in this show where the problem for me is not the acting itself, but rather the script. I find the storylines and jokes flat and unoriginal while the characters are exaggerated. Not sure who the target audience is because I don't think it's mature enough for me as an adult, but also doesn't come across as a show for children.

Myself, my wife and my two kids (9 and 11) made a point od sitting down every week to watch this. They're Swedish, I'm English and we all loved it. I perhaps appreciated the Norwegian neighbour a little more than they did.

A superb cast and excellent well worked stories and characters. Different from previous itterations (my favourite being the Morgan Alling era) in a good way, Rudolph and Karin are just as funny, but for different reasons and I think the focus on family much more than just Sune was a good decision. We're two series in and we all hope that SVT go on to make many, many more. Warm and funny from start to finnish..
