16bit Sensation is an homage to Tokyo's 'electric town' Akihabara and otaku culture, especially bishojo games. The main protagonist in the anime is Konoha Akisato, she works at a bishojo game company as an illustrator. She's very enthusiastic and when she does things, she's doing them highly motivated. She is cute, yet also pretty annoying, especially considering her high-pitched voice. Although she loves being an illustrator, she is made to do the most boring jobs at her company, which is very frustrating for her. However, her fate takes a drastic turn when she discovers a store with old computer games during her lunch break.
The story line has a time travel twist, and there's even a reference to 'Back to the future'. There are more references to old Japanese computer platforms like the PC-98, the Comiket and we get to see how Akihabara looked in the nineties, which is nice.
I binged the first 3 or 4 episodes, and the show is entertaining enough with some interesting turns, but in the last 3 episodes the show is taking a pretty weird turn, and the ending seems a bit rushed.
