After being lost during surgery, a piece of brain tumor from a patient's operation starts to grow into massive size and goes on a rampage in a local neighborhood forcing a group of survivors and the medical staff that were responsible for the initial surgery to come together and stop it.
This was a massively disappointing and irritating genre effort. The main problem is that this one could've been a lot of fun as an indie genre effort if it decided not to play so heavily on offering up goofy fan service and in-jokes in a situation that doesn't need it. The lackadaisical attitude of the staff at the hospital, supposedly professionals who are supposedly at the top of their field but make inappropriate jokes that are immensely immature and showcase a far more low-brow sense of humor than would be found in this kind of effort, actually work nicely with the rest of the confrontations found here which is a massive personal preference aspect for those looking into the film. Given this cheesy approach involving the special effects present for the killer brain during here with the overall presentation throughout here, these features are fine enough for the cheesy approach on display. Aside from that, there's the big problem here where this is just not interesting enough to be the goofy cheesefest it could've been. There's not a whole lot going on here other than a near-endless stream of scenes featuring these idiotic characters arguing back and forth about what's going on that comes at the expense of something involving the creature on the loose which usually is the featured topic in a majority of the discussions taking place. Instead of going through the cost of trying to put the creature down, there are numerous sidestories about the fates of the characters around the periphery of the story, the nature of the scientific process that brought the creature to life, and how everything fits together which leaves this feeling like random scenes stitched together with very little plot to bring them together.
Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.
