Lovesick Fool - Love in the Age of Like was a pretty funny take on the Woody Allen-tybe nebbish character
This was one of several shorts I just watched at the Louisiana International Film Festival & Mentorship Program under the umbrella title of Adult Animated Short Films of which this was the only one listed here on IMDB. Dominic Polcino is the writer, director, and lead voice in this one as he plays a grown man who has trouble communicating with women. Jeanne Garofalo and Fred Willard voice his co-workers at a card company he's employed in and Lisa Kudrow is his shrink. This short mines Woody Allen territory concerning the lead character's awkward ways he tries to talk to the opposite sex. It also takes place in a period that seems downhill concerning the atmosphere around the L.A. area. I'll just now say that I found stuff in this animated short that was funny that other audience members didn't and vice versa though I maybe would have to watch this again to really appreciate what they found funny though thinking about those reactions may help that. Anyway, I consider this a recommendation for Lovesick Fool - Love in the Age of Like.
Waste of time
This movie made me cringe so hard that I couldn't even finish watching it. The hyper-sexual depiction of women was over the top and didn't allow me to sympathize with the character at all, if that was even supposed to be the point. The animation wasn't great, either. Disappointing

Loved it!
When the 42 minutes ended, I found myself not ready to say goodbye the thoughtful, hilarious, and engaging characters and animated world they inhabited.
