- Bijjaladeva: What is it, you dog?
- Kattappa: My Lord.
- Kattappa: What have you come to bark about?
- [his men laugh]
- Kattappa: Baahubali's coronation will take place on the upcoming Vijaya Dashami. Queen Mother's orders were to give this news to you first.
- Bijjaladeva: [Bijjaladeva angrily throws his glass away] This is exactly what happened on that day as well! My throne was given to my younger brother, and now, my son's throne is being given to that very brother's son. My son, my son's son, and his sons, will we just remain slaves? Tell me, you dog, why wasn't I made king?
- [He yanks away the cloth draped around him, revealing his damaged arm]
- Bijjaladeva: Because I am handicapped? So what if one arm is disabled, is this iron fist not enough to rule our kingdom?
- [he turns and punches a pillar with his good arm, breaking a huge chunk off of it]
- Kattappa: You weren't rejected kingship because of your disabled arm my lord, but because of your handicapped brain.
- Setu Patti: [angrily pulls out his sword] Your orders, my lord!
- Bijjaladeva: You dog! Have you forgotten that anyone who speaks ill about the royal family gets his tongue cut off!
- Kattappa: Forgive me, but a person who thinks of killing his own wife, what is his brain but handicapped?
- Bijjaladeva: [backs away, shocked] You overheard?
- Kattappa: No my lord. Since I am after all a dog, I was able to smell it!
- [bows and walks away]
- [last lines]
- Mahendra Baahubali: My first order with Queen Mother Sivagami Devi as the witness. In our kingdom, those who believe in justice and hard work will be able to walk with their heads held high, and if anyone thinks of harming these good people, whoever it may be, their heads shall burn in the flames of hell. This is my order and my order is the law !
- Bijjaladeva: Bhalla, have you ever considered killing your mother? I did. When, upon his birth, she shared with him the affection only you were entitled to, for the first time I thought of killing her. Shares in wealth, glory, and even rights! When she was giving him half of everything, I felt like killing her! And now, when the throne is being passed on to him, I feel like crushing her throat with these very hands. So Bhalla, should we kill her?
- Bhallaladeva: [Bhallaladeva talks to his crown] Mahishmathi, ever since I can remember, I have longed for you. In every dream I saw you fitted onto my head. After all these years, after all these conspiracies, you came into my grasp. Then why are you running away from me now? I made you my first priority, so why have you rejected me and chosen Baahubali instead?
- [He presses his hand down on the sharp edges of the crown, making it bleed]
- Bijjaladeva: Bhalla, you are the king now. Order Baahubali to be killed. Who is going to stop you? Have him killed!
- Bhallaladeva: I have the power to command, but the power to execute still lies with the Queen Mother. This custom needs to be changed.
- Bijjaladeva: Change Sivagami? The sun can never rise from the west, Bhalla.
- Bhallaladeva: Whether it rises from the west or not, I will make it set in the east.
- Amarendra Baahubali: The one who gives life is God, the one who protects the life is the physician, and the one who saves that life is the Kshatriya.
- Sivagami: If Baahubali is given the death sentence, the subjects will revolt, the court will split into factions. War within! This won't be good for our kingdom.
- Bijjaladeva: So are you just going to let such a criminal get away?
- Sivagami: BAAHUBALI'S DEATH IS CERTAIN!
- [Bijjaladeva gasps]
- Sivagami: But his blood shouldn't stain the King's hands. He shouldn't go down in history as his younger brother's murderer.
- Bijjaladeva: Then what should we do?
- Bijjaladeva: What are you doing, Kattappa? For generations, your forefathers remained in good favour with the King. They gained such prominence. Do you want to break your promise and destroy their glory? No Kattappa, rectify your mistake, kill Baahubali's son just like you had killed him.
- Bijjaladeva: [Kattappa turns to see Mahendra fighting soldiers, Bijjaldeva places his hand on his shoulder] Go Kattappa. Kill him.
- Kattappa: [Kattappa hesitates, then faces Bijjaladeva and strikes him down] Twenty-five years ago the Queen Mother had proclaimed Mahendra Baahuabli as our King. Thinking he was dead, I served a lie for all these years. Today our truth has returned. Kattappa never breaks his promise, my Lord.
- Devasena: Kattappa.
- Kattappa: Your Highness.
- Devasena: Didn't you bring me anything?
- Kattappa: A slave like me isn't even allowed to bless you, Your Highness. What could I possibly give you?
- Devasena: I will only ask for what you can give me? Will you give it to me then?
- Kattappa: Ask away then.
- Devasena: In my kingdom, it is customary for the grandfather to hold the child before the mother, so that the child may have a long life. My father is no longer alive and neither is his. You will take my child in your arms won't you, Kattappa?
- Kattappa: [Kattappa gets emotional upon hearing Devasena's request]
- Kattappa: It's enough just to keep this slave in your company, but you have given me your father's place. I won't just hold your child in my arms, but hold him above my head.
- [Devasena stumbles into Sivagami's chamber with her newborn son, where she sees Kattappa and Sivagami]
- Kattappa: You elevated my status to that of your father's and wished for me to bless your child with my own hands. Yet these hands have now killed your husband!
- Amarendra Baahubali: As long as you are with me, the one who can kill me hasn't been born yet, Uncle.
- Sivagami: [Sivagami kneels in front of Devasena and touches her foot, her eyes filled with tears] By realizing the greatness of Baahubali, you have risen high above the sky. And by killing the son I nursed, I have fallen at your feet. What else can I do now, but go to him and wash his feet with my tears? What else can I do?
- Sivagami: Baahu, I have already promised Devasena to Bhalladeva in marriage.
- Devasena: Stop! Who are you to select a husband for me without my consent? Do you not know that a Kshatriya princess has the right to choose her own husband? Do you not have this much sense?
- Sivagami: How dare you raise your voice at Sivagami! Commander, arrest this arrogant woman and bring her to her knees!
- Setu Patti: As you wish Queen Mother!
- [Setu Patti and the other soldiers pull out their swords and advance towards Devasena. Baahubali pulls out his own sword and steps in front of her]
- Amarendra Baahubali: Anyone who lays a hand on Devasena might as well be touching Baahubali's sword.
- Bhallaladeva: He was with you for only nine months and that too in your womb. You were with me for twenty-five years, so how could you just leave me for him, Devasena
- Mahendra Baahubali: Send word to the kingdom, grandfather! Tell everyone, young or old that I have called them! Grab whatever weapons you can find! Tell them that Queen Mother Sivagami's grandson and Amarendra Baahubali's descendant has returned to free this cursed kingdom!
- Bijjaladeva: [Bijjaladeva stabs Kumara Varma] Are you confused, Kumara Varma? We are conducting a ritual sacrifice! A great sacrifice to have Sivagami orchestrate Baahubali's death. You are merely a tiny offering. Look Sivagami, Baahubali sent his close friend and trusted aide, Kumara Varma with his own dagger, informing him of all the secret pathways in the palace, in the middle of the night to kill the King. Kumara Varma and his men killed all our bodyguards. The King! He even injured the King!
- [Bhallaladeva uses Kumara Varma's knife to slice his own face, leaving a scar over his right eye]
- Bijjaladeva: What more is there to do now? Baahubali must die!
- [Slashes Kumara Varma with a sword, killing him]
- Bhallaladeva: This gold statue, the throne of Mahishmathi, this crown, my complete control over this kingdom, all this time I thought these brought me joy. No! It's these iron chains. These chains that have inflicted hellish torture on Devasena. Now that Devasena is no longer in their grasp, I feel like my head is going to burst open, Father!
- Amarendra Baahubali: I, Amarendra Baahubali, protector of the vast subjects of Mahishmathi and their wealth, dignity, and lives, and commander of King Bhalladeva's army, will not hesitate to even give up my life as I diligently fulfil my duties. With Queen Mother Sivagami Devi as my witness, I take this oath.
- Kattappa: [opening narration] The war with the Kalakeyas ended, Baahubali and Bhallaladeva showed equal bravery and valour but impressed by how Baahubali protected his people, the Queen Mother announced him the King. The people started celebrating and anxiously looked forward to the coronation. That's when the Demon Burning festival arrived, which occurs only once every twenty-six years. As per tradition, to ensure prosperity in the kingdom, the daughter-in-law of the royal family must embark on the Fire Walk herself. She must walk barefoot 30 miles from the capital city to Mahdev's temple in the jungle, carrying a firepot on her head, and destroy the demon's effigy, not stopping until the task is complete.
- Bhallaladeva: Queen Mother! Foolish Mother! I convinced her that you were trying to kill me so she signed off on your death herself!
- Kattappa: Finally having the kingdom all to himself, Bhallaladeva's atrocities knew no bounds. Fuelled by his rage towards Devasena, he destroyed Kunthala kingdom. We all believed you to be dead son, but your grandmother sacrificed her own life to save yours. Your mother and motherland have been waiting for twenty-five years. Only for you, Mahendra.
