Noomi Rapace truly is the best female actress of our time, she just shines in every single thing she does ever since I saw her first jaw dropping performance in the awesome Girl With The Dragon Tattoo I have followed all of her films and she just makes even the weakest plot or story shine, stir the pot with the excellent Luke Evans and bring it to the boil and we have an excellent cinematic nourishment for the senses.
Although this story-line has been done before, the acting and direction just makes this film a cut above the rest and although you kinda know 10 minutes in what is going to happen it still does not prepare you for the gut wrenching denouement.

Oposite from others opinion...
Personally I have enjoyed first part of the movie, the psychological, emotional, painful part of it...With most incredible performance by Noomi Rapace. But the ending was very disappointing, for me. Typical Hollywood style...
6 stars just for Noomi. She is one of the most versatile and powerful actresses.

What a fantastic movie. You know the synopsis by now and you have heard complaints of slow paced first half. Ignore that because the pay off is worth it. I am not going to give you a clue just trust me. The one point I will make is that in the wrong hands and with the wrong cast this could have backfired but this is in perfect tune with incredible performances by all. I mean stunning, award winning level. Not just Noomi Rapace but Yvonne Strahovski too. I suspect they helped each other tremendously because their interactions are so believable to watch. If you are deciding to watch it just do it, it is a little gem.

Both my wife and I fancied this movie from viewing the trailer.
Acting and direction is at a good standard but I found two thirds of the movie boring and so did my wife but I'm glad we stuck it out until the end as the last third of the movie was very good.
We both scored this movie a 6 and agreed that it was worth viewing.

With a movie like this, there is only one of two things that can be real. Saying you knew all along is therefor invalid. You're not a genius for figuring it out or worse pretending to knew all along. Whatever you guessed and there will be guessing, this is made with quite the attention to detail and the actors really give it their all - on the brink of madness.
It is tough to like anyone in particular, apart from the kids. Kids mostly are pure and can not be held to any morality standard. You can feel the pain of the adults, no matter what your perspective is ... how far would you go and who should stop you? And who would you be in that equation? A lot of interesting questions raised ... mostly for effect and suspense of course

I am so glad that I checked this out. This is a slow burner that delivers. It is well acted and the story is well constructed. There is a great amount of tension throughout and while it doesn't have a lot of dialogue or backstory, the atmosphere totally draws you in and keeps you interested. The best part of this is believing you have it all figured out then being smacked with something you couldn't, or at least I couldn't, see coming. That qualifies it as awesome for me.
If you like thrillers, check it out. If you are a mom, check it out. It is so worth it.

This is a filmed with extreme mixed emotions, as a matter of fact extremely embarrassing and utterly uncomfortable at stages at the same time as you can feel 100 percent aligned with the main characters thoughts , emotions and actions. at the same time you understand her surroundings and the feel of danger that emits from the main caracter.
its not a family movie for sure even though there are children involved. the story are at times complex and seems at standstill at time, but its a boost in the second half. the filmography and settings are very well done and chosen, and the music made for this feature film are indeed spot on.
i the grumpy old man discovered noomi rapace in a sweedish made triology based on the books by stieg larsson, does still impress me in a kind of solo role that she plays in this movie. she is strong and temptatious in her acting, very well made chioce by the casting crew.
its not a film for everyone, but for those who like the genre, it will be a smashing hit. highly recommended.

Despite the fact that it is a relatively simple movie plot & the entire movie is only a little over 90 mins, I find myself getting really bored in between the screening. There is really not enough substance, to carry the entire movie through, thus creating the feeling that the movie seems to be a lot longer than it should. That being said, Noomi has always been one of my favorite actresses & she rarely disappoints. I guess an actor can only do so much with the material that they are given.

A good movie except for the superfluous spiritual component in one situation. And of course it's a bit of a cliché that only mothers have this special bond and fathers seem to be unfit for it.

Amazing movie. Looks like a normal thriller and seen that been there kind initially, but it's not!! Noomi Rapace is one big reason for watching it too, she is simply brilliant, a complete natural.
The story overall is decently good. Performance of actors is excellent..it is not a boring movie but it somehow needs more spices, more suspens.
Although events are based on past history, flashbacks are completely absent, while they may be useful to better visualize the impact of the past on the present.

A wonderful, independent film produced in Australia that takes viewers on a powerful, emotional rollercoaster. Rapace's performance was marvellous - she delivered a moving portrayal of a grieving mother struck by anxiety and depression. I loved the fact that all of the supporting actors were equally astute and were able to deliver consistent performances to add suspense, intrigue and a welcomed sense of confusion throughout the film.
All in all, if you want to get away from the action-hero centred blockbusters currently blotting our screens and immerse yourself in a dramatic production, Angel of Mine is the film to watch.

As a mom I could relate to the main character. However there are some gaps and far-fetched twists in my opinion. Having watched similar thrillers, I was guessing the main points of the ending. Nevertheless it was a good thriller to watch. Kept me at the edge of my seat. For me it was very nice, but I wouldn't watch it twice.

Haunted by her tragic past and fighting a bitter custody battle with her ex husband Lizzie is losing her grip on reality. At her son's friend's birthday party Lizzie sees a girl named Lola and somehow recognises in her the baby she lost many years ago. Convinced against all logic that Lola is her own daughter miraculously brought back to life, Lizzi starts following the girl around. As her obsession intensifies, how far can she go before a new tragedy befalls all involved?
ANGEL OF MINE is one of those films that benefits from walking in blind and just taking it all in at face value. Based on the French drama film L'EMPRIENTE the English version is much further into thriller territory than the original, building up an almost unbearable tension.
These are tour de force performances for the stars Noomi Rapace (Lizzi) and Yvonne Strahovski (Claire, Lola's mother) as the first spirals out of control and the second is consumed by suspicion and fear. Their dynamic easily warrants a second viewing.
The plot may read as a standard thriller, but this is not the case at all. With its nuanced performances, pacing and intelligent script the film keeps its cards close to its chest. The ending will not disappoint.
Moving location from Paris to Melbourne, Australia is an interesting choice, as Melbourne can be as moody at times and as stunningly beautiful.
ANGEL OF MINE is great to see with a large, focused audience, where you get all the gasps and laughs which makes it a perfect movie experience.
While being a remake ANGEL OF MINE stands on its own as a much more tense version. It is a thought provoking and well acted piece of entertainment.

Getting to the Third-Act Reveal We Know that it can Go Only One of Two Ways.
Either Noomi Rapace's Mother's Intuition...
"I know what I know"...
is False and a Product of Her Traumatic Experience of Losing a Young Daughter to a Fiery Death,
or this is Truly Her Daughter and the Neighbor (Rebecca Bower) is a Kidnapper.
But to Find Out if it's "Door #1 or Door #2, the Audience is put through some Stress-Full Stuff of Their Own.
It's a Film that is Always On Edge, with Danger of Exposure for the Protagonist as She Follows Her Instincts while All Around Her Think She is Dire Need of Serious Help Overcoming Her Mental Breakdown.
It's an Engaging Movie because the Stakes are High and are of the Personal, Innate Emotional Conditions that Make Us Human. Motherhood.
A Satisfying Psychological Mystery/Thriller that is Worth a Watch.

I looked this movie up straight away on this site to watch it then on netflix, and there is pretty good reviews for it and a pretty good score. For me anything over 6/10 il give it a chance and I'm very happy that I did.
It draws you in from about 10 mins into it. Very good acting and a good twist always make for a good movie. Well worth the watch, 7/10 for me.
