During the show's run, camp-sites in Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan saw a spike in visitors.
Several of the staff went camping to better understand it for the series, including director Yoshiaki Kyôgoku and writer Jin Tanaka. One place was Lake Motsu which is the first site Rin camps at the start of the first series. Kyôgoku recalls their night at Lake Motsu was very wet and cold. Kyôgoku also went camping by himself several times to better understand Rin's motivations as a solo camper.
The Anime the Girls claim to have watched in Ep 12, "Moped Journey", is possibly a Refrence to the anime "Kino's Journey."
Rin drives something similar to a Yamaha Vino scooter. In February 2018, dealers reported that this brand of scooters in the same color like the one Rin uses were sold out. Then in March, Yamaha manufactured one replica of Rin's Vino moped for a campaign prize.
All the main girls surnames come from cities in Japan. (Nadeshiko) Kagimihara, (Ena) Saito and (Chiaki) Ogaki are cities in Gifu Prefecture of the Chubu Region which is also where Mount Fuji is situated. (Rin) Shima and (Minami) Toba are cities in Mie Prefecture of the Kansai Region and (Aoi) Inuyama is a city in Aichi Prefecture which is also in Chubu.
