Mangaka Yukinobu Tatsu’s supernatural comedy Dan Da Dan has recently received an anime adaptation, produced by “Science Saru,” which has quickly taken over the market with its unique, zany, absurd humor, bombastic and cool action, peppy characters, and vibrant, dynamic animation style. While the premise might make you feel that the story is moving along the lines of traditional Shounen narratives, the series is anything but, as it subverts the existing tropes of modern Shounen and pokes fun at the prevalent edgy, darker tone with a conscious, sarcastic tinge. The smooth, artistically unique animation, which offers some of the best sequences I have seen in recent years, is one of the key highlights that will definitely keep fans hooked on the series. Like me, if you are a fan of Mob Psycho 100, then Dan Da Dan is right up your alley.

Apple TV+ has announced the programming that will be added to the streaming service next month. The Apple TV Plus July 2024 lineup includes the thriller series Sunny, the family series Me, the limited series Lady in the Lake, the docuseries Omnivore, the comedic adventure series Time Bandits, and the crime drama Women in Blue (“Las Azules”).
