During shooting, Ava's name was Eve. Presumably due to the similarity to Killing Eve (2018), the studio decided to change the main character's name after the film wrapped. This then affected the title. Since all scenes were filmed prior to this decision, this presumably required cast to do additional audio or shooting.

In between takes, Jessica Chastain hosted dance parties and exercise classes for the crew.

Due to his history with domestic violence and public pressure, Matthew Newton stepped down from directing the film. Jessica Chastain contacted her friend Tate Taylor as she rushed to hire someone she trusted and knew could be ready in short notice.
