A good laugh :)
The picture of the people who were sometimes ago a members of YU and now live in a separated small and irrelevant countries for a global leaders, and still are driven by the influence of their eternal problems. In some moments it looks like a British movie "Shaun of the Dead" and in one scene reminds us on exYugoslavian "Pretty Village, Pretty Flame", when we hear the song of the old Yugoslavian band "Indexi", She threw everything down the river(Bacila je sve niz rijeku). Anyway, it gives us a good laugh.
only funny if you can relate to ex-yugoslavia
This movie was already in cinemas half a year ago and i had a hard time to find
it somewhere to have a look at, luckily zagrebs "luda kuca" was showing it on a saturday evening for one-time only and so i went to watch it.
Using the backdrop of a zombie-apocalypse the movie is mocking everything that relates to the current state of the regions of the former yugoslavia and its relations to each other andit does it good enough to be actually funny which seems not to be a given in most croatians comedy-movies, at the same time thats the biggest problem of the movie, foreigners wont relate to it because these are mostly inside-jokes.
Kresimir Mikic is awesome and has become one of my favourite croatian actors, i really wished croatian cinema would make movies that doesnt target only domestic audiences, because it certainly has enough good actors but lacks the screenwriters for it.
So if you are from the balkans and like domestic comedies this one is worth a watch compared to what else croatian cinema has to offer, foreigners should take a pass and rather watch "Shaun of the Dead" or "Zombieland" which this movie doesnt come close.

If you wanna watch Balkan zombie comedy
As a Croat, I found this movie very funny, it trolls many of our stereotypes. Its on Netflix so foreign audience can see absurd stuff we are dealing on daily basis- from mass exodus to other richer EU Countries, homophobia, WW2 politics- who was Ustasha(fashist) who was Partisan (Communist), down to DNA and bloodcells- how much of you is pure croatian, help you god if you are mixed (serb, bosnian etc).
As far as storyline goes, its like its been taylor made for Covid times even it came out few months before it. Zombie effects are really good for low budget comedy. Also I was very happy to see my town mentioned by doctor in it, it made my day.
Anyway, check the movie, its only 85 minutes long, excellent for netflix and chill night.

Swedish buffet
It can be perceived as a dark comedy, as parody, as the worst movie seen, as a teenager or Balkanic public. And, sure, it can be boring, stupid or absurde. But it is one of films for a very large target. And that is its basic virtue. So Serbian, than only a Balkanic viewer understand all references. So crazy than only a zombie fan can define the sins about this theme. So crazy than it becomes...nice. Smart use of cliches, decent performances and generous subject. So, just a Swedish buffet.

Parody of small nations' national myths
It is a fun movie, parody of several genres. It is a successful political parody of Croatian obsessive idea of Serbs as filthy and dangerous but fascinating Other. Also, it is a successful parody of all small nations' myths of national pride and heroes. There are some very particular parodies of certain Croatian politicians and geopolitical relations. In this respect, it is actually a better movie than it looks like right on the first sight.
There is also unfortunately still a certain problem with the movie: it is very intelligent for someone who knows ex-Yugoslavia politics and history, but it probably looks non-sensical to people who are not familiar to that. In its desire to be a comical for ex-Yugoslav audience, it has a little bit too many cheap jokes and action movies stereotypes made for Balkan market . It perhaps prevents it from being a quality European level movie. Still, having the "virus" as a centre of its theme, probably will give this movie more attention in the future, since it also resonates well with the world pandemic situation, so it might work for the film.
The cast is also very good, at least three main roles are placed in the hands of three quality regional actors, and the film deserves praise in that sense. The minus is, however, the appearance of some iconic pop-culture figures in minimal roles, again, it works just as a low-level jokes of recognition, and not really as some serious reference to anything of significance in the movie.

Pretentious garbage paid with taxpayers money
Unfortunately the vast majority of films financed by taxpayers through HAVC (Croatian Audiovisual Center) are pretentious and boring.
The director of this film tries to explain to us, ignorant viewers, what stereotypes reign in society in order to end up just confirming those same stereotypes. The film is tedious and boring, and any attempt at humor is so pathetic that it's simply sad.
What a waste of taxpayer money.

Brilliant parody of almost everything
Although I'm not a fan of many Croatian comedies (as a Croatian myself), in this one I found myself laughing out loud on few occasions.
This movie is a parody of many things. First of all, it mocks low budget movies, superheroes and zombies, because the latter two are quite common in modern age movies. Second, it mocks the Balkan mentality which is present in all former Yugoslavian countries, along with their common history and relations, and this is the main punch-line of the movie. So if you are a foreigner (and by that I mean if you're not from one of the former Yugoslavian countries) you probably won't get many of the jokes.
The movie is simple, funny, and most importantly different from many other Croatian comedies, which is probably why the audience liked it so much.
It's a must watch for everyone living in Balkan region.

Very bad act and script
One of the worst movies that does not worth money for ticket. Very bad acting and very bad, low budget production and the script itself is like it was written by some adolescent. Do not bother to waste your time on this. Acting like this it should be banned.

Croatian Zombieland
I went to see it in the cinema with my friend. Croatian movies (especially comedies) tend to be underwhelming. Usually they're not funny at all and always have the same theme - Serbo-Croatian relationships after the Yugoslavian war. Our expectations were extremely low. But we were in for a surprise.
The movie takes place 7 years after Croatia's gone bankrupt. The population fell under 3 million, most of it being homeless on the street. It is heavily segregated, for a small part of it is very rich, including our main protagonist (Hrvoje Mikic). The biggest star is Hrvojka Horvat (Hristina Popovic), making bad, although patriotic, action movies. She's an obvious parody of Wonder Woman with a dash of M. P. Thompson. We soon find out that a mysterious disease turns people into zombies. And so our hero joins a group of survivors, including a stereotypic, homophobic Ustasha-sympathizer called Max (Dado Cosic), trying to find a cure. Along the way they find out that only Serbians are imune to the disease. The rest is up to you to find out.
As mentioned before, most Croatian movies weren't able to let go of the theme of Serbo-Croatian post-war relationships. This movie does... Well, kind of. "Posljednji Srbin u Hrvatskoj" choses nationalism in Ex-Yugoslavia in general as it's main topic rather than being specific. It makes fun of everyone: Croatians, Serbians, Bosnians, and Slovenians. It points its finger to the future, criticising current problems, such as emigration, privatisation, and the rise of extreme right-wing policies and nationalism, rather than to the past like many other movies. The zombies serve as a metaphor for ideologies that should be dead, but are still pretty much alive, which is especially evident in the later parts of the movie. Along with clever criticism, the movie also makes sure to never take itself too seriously. This is one of the few Croatian comedies I found to be genuinely funny, and me and my friend were laughing constantly. There wasn't even an attempt at a serious scene explaining the main message, and the movie is always fast-paced. Every character is a stereotype, but that fits well with the overall over-the-top tone of the movie. It can be best descriped as an Croatian twist on the zombie-comedy "Zombieland".
As stated, most people have really low expectations as far as Croatian cinematography goes. I genuinely thought that critics were bribed to write all the good reviews. But I was obviously wrong. And I'm glad I was.
P.S. I swear to God I was not bribed to write this review. :)

trailer looked promising ...
... but the movie dissapoints. not sure if the trailer was done by the same person who did the movie but i would have rather the guy who did the trailer would have done the movie too.
i wished they would have just done a comedic zombiemovie with the backdrop of croatia, but the plot is too specific to the balkans and not very funny i must say. for the same amount of money i would have rather seen a movie that can be watched by international audiences too, like shaun of the dead for example.
unbelievable how much tax-payers money croatian film industrie can burn to nothing and still get more funding.

A great movie, classic black humour
Although arguably some of the funny bits may not be understood well by people outside of the Balkans area, if you (like I did) grew up in a certain age you will appreciate the parody of all things (various nationalities that now live in small countries in the region, zombies, homophobic people, silly movies, global companies that stop at nothing in search of profit ...). Good actors, a very funny script and matching music. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this movie!

Trash. And not funny.
Complete trash. In addition it is extremely offensive. Such a waste of time.
Laughing my head off!
OK, I guess this is the best Zombie parody I've seen since Shaun of the Dead :)
I guess today, in the world of overly sensitive politically correct activists for animal rights, regarthless of which of the 7 unnatural genders they are, this movie would be too much to watch.
It's typical Balkan humor, with intentionally cheezy overacting and cartoonish characters set into the cartoonish world of a zombie apocalypse so many people are taking seriously for no apperant reason.
If you like zombie movies, high budget action, or actors making you believe the silver screen is more real than reality - this is not the movie for you.
However, if you like a good laugh and are not taking yourself (or life, or world) too seriously - enjoy!

Completely waste of time
One of the worst movie that I ever watched! I don't see what is point of this movie. It's not funny at all and acting is really bad! I really have no idea where did they found these actors, they should change their profession

Waste of time
This is arguably the most stupid, shallow and offensive movie I watched in a while. Also, this movie is full of brainless nationalist jokes which aren't even funny. Anyone who knows a bit of what happened here in the ww2 and the 90s will find this movie highly offensive, regardless of the ethnicity and political views.

Its hilarious
I just played it without any expectation and after watching it I think it is hilarious.
It is satire on many layers, story as a whole is well tought and there are couple of scenes (jokes) which are really funny and which I will repeat to my friends for a good laugh.
Of course, it is not the best movie you'll ever watch, but it is massively underrated.
Also, I think people from ex Yugoslavia will find it little bit more amusing then foreigners. But if you are a foreigner, give it a try, maybe you can find similar relations to ours from your own country.
Posljednji Srbin U Hrvatskoj made my day.

Generally, don't bother.
If you're not from one of the countries of ex- Yugoslavia, you will most likely not understand 99% of the jokes and references, so don't bother watching this movie. If you are, you will understand everything, but it won't be funny because it's too on the nose, not subtle at all and poorly presented, so don't bother watching this movie.
I hoped the movie wouldn't be typically Croatian, but unfortunately it ended up being just that: bad writing, thinks it's mocking stereotypes, but is actually perpetuating them, thinks the audience is stupid so everything needs to be drawn to them (explicit jokes so that you absolutely must understand that the character is making a joke), swearing left and right etc. Wouldn't hurt to also find some Serbian actors to play the actual Serbs instead of having Croatian actors speak with a sort of Bosnian accent, I guess?
The biggest "offense", if I can call it that, is that the movie spent an hour and 20 minutes to build itself up as inclusive, border-breaking or something only to completely destroy itself in the last 10 minutes by introducing a race of "Neo Serbs", who are presented as worse than zombies, violent, merciless and radical. Like, what was the point of the movie? Seriously, what was it? I don't get it and I don't think the movie gets it either.
The movie also included some of the most prominent contemporary Croatian actors. If you didn't know their faces, you would never be able to tell that they are actually good actors. I don't know who should be blamed for this, though.
Yeah, so, generally - don't bother.

Croatian Shaun of the Dead
After excellent and funny trailers I really wanted to check out this small zombie movie containing local clichés and jokes, but movie turned out to be just under-average.
I really enjoyed acting and fooling around by actress Hristina Popovic and small parts from actor Janko Popovic Volaric and thats it...
Boring ,slow and predictable movie with very few successful jokes, more suitable to some primary school amateur film group than state financed professional actors.
Even hilarious and totally unique soundtrack by Perro Defformero is very badly used in movie and just cut at wrong place of song...
Maybe sequel deserves better script?
