Tuck Jagadish (2021)
Rehash, Predictable and inconsistent
All the time that we watch the movie, we get a feeling that we might have already seen it somewhere. After giving us two great movies, Shiva Nirvana falters in his third. His strengths emotions are there, but they never carry through the movie due to the screenplay. It feels very formulaic and forced. Nani does what is expected of him and is subtle. Ritu does what she can but is not a memorable role. Aishwarya rajesh has small but substantial role that she lives up to with her acting. Jagapathi babu gets another meaty role and excels. Others get registered here and there and did justice to their roles. Songs never get registered and BGM is a huge minus point. Give it a try for Nani and Jagapathi Babu.
Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives (2020)
Ye kya dekh liya mene!
I had a mental breakdown when Chunky said he will keep Ananya's Oscar. Now I am depressed. I don't know if I should cry or laugh or sympathize with him.
Mookuthi Amman (2020)
Partly Engaging
It's a one time watchable film, Nayanthara looks beautiful and perfectly suited as Amman. RJ Balaji does what he does best, Urvashi maam comedy timing is great. The movie suffers from pacing, the beginning portions are entertaining but it loses the steam gradually especially in the second half. The comedy also drops as the movie progresses. The bgm is fine sometimes loud, cinematography is neat. The film also looks to be inspiration from other films of the same kind but has a different feel. You can give it a try with minimum expectations.
Soorarai Pottru (2020)
Suriya Explodes!
A terrific film that features great performances from its cast. Suriya is on a roll and it was a treat to watch him on screen. The airport scene shows his caliber, Aparna was great in her role. Paresh sir was terrific as a ruthless airline owner. The BGM was great and sets the tone for the film. The emotional comtent is terrific in the movie and you will root for the lead character always. The cinematography was great. The direction by Sudha Kongara, probably the best female director in the country is great. Dont miss this gem of a film. The first OTT blockbuster.
Laxmii (2020)
Only for Sharad.
As I have already watched the tamil version I can tell this no way matches the original in terms of acting and sadly in the direction department as well. After watching the film, I can understand why Raghava wanted to leave the film due to the changes in the script without his consent. I really dont understand why you need to bring Love Jihaad everywhere, the protagonist is a Muslim, where he is not accepted into a Hindu family. The hero family consult a Muslim baba for help where as the villain family consult a Hindu baba, well again I wouldnt have a problem if they didnt change the script. The most ridiculous thing of all is the bhajan scene. I am pretty sure Raghava's hands were tied by the producers.
Coming to technical aspects, Akshay Kumar faltered in the first half but did well in the second. Kiara is just a filler. The comedy is not great, probably due to the change in casting. Except for the last song rest are speed breakers. The only saving grace is Sharad Kelkar who is brilliant in the flashback.
It could have been a great film for bollywood only if the producers didn't force the changes in the script.
Miss India (2020)
Slow burn!
The movie looks very artificial with its setting. A lot of cinematic liberties have been taken that are far from reality, Keerthy does well but I really dont know why she needed to lose weight for this role. The dialogues are philosophical but the situation created for them look very artificial. Many notable actors were wasted for tiny roles. Jagapathi babu looks decent but we have seen him do this before. Music was fine. Cinematography is neat. Overall another disappointing film for the OTT.

A decent emotional watch
The heart and soul of the film is definitely Suhas and Chandini. Sunil is good in his role but we feel a bit odd seeing him in a negative role. Viva harsha gets a good role and surprises you. Rest of the cast are apt and good for their roles. If you are expecting this to be a rom-com it isn't, comedy is present but this is more of a tragic comedy. The climax could have been better, its emotional and good but I didnt like how it ended. Music is great by Kaala Bhairava. Go give this a watch, at least for Suhas, he was terrific and you will feel for him throughout the film.
V (2020)
A bad 25th choice.
V is a very predictable movie. We have seen films like this in the past atleast the motive. The backstory could have been better. Nani does well, a welcome change for him. Sudheer's intro was coolly shot and was okay for the role. The camera work is great. Nivetha has been wasted. Aditi was okay in a small role. Bgm was on the lines of ratsasan. The pace is uneven. The darkness is high considering Nani's film but not that much if you compare with others. In trying to be everything the film loses its shape.
For an OTT release, this is a passable one time watch.
Khuda Haafiz (2020)
Worth a watch.
Vidyut Jammwal excels in his role of a estranged husband. This movie offers him scope to have an emotional angle and he does supremely well. He has got great screen presence. Shivaleeka was apt for her small role. The cinematography is good, and the background score as well. The first half moves at a terrific pace, the pace drops a bit in the 2nd half.
Overall the film deserves your time and everyone in the film deserve appreciation.
Mahanati (2018)
A befitting tribute to a legendary actress
The direction by Nag Ashwin is great. The cinematography is excellent. Keerthy suresh lives in her role. One of the best telugu films ever made. No unnecessary glorifying of the lead character, well researched, perfect casting.
Lootcase (2020)
A good watch.
A situational comedy film that is supported by its excellent cast and their acting. The pace is uneven nevertheless it is a good watch.
