Soul Reaver 2 (2001)
Not Nearly as Good as the First
While the enhanced graphics of the PS2 have given Soul Reaver 2 one advantage over its predecessor, it falls short in every other aspect.
The plot is not nearly as engaging as before. There are one or two nice twists, but for the most part, you'll wonder why you're going where you are.
The inventive boss battles of the first game are long gone. Instead, you're faced with endless battles with what essentially boils down to only 4 enemies.
The puzzles have been greatly dumbed down as well. Now, they amount to no more than taking an item from point A to point B.
If you simply MUST play this game....rent it.
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962)
One of the worst movies ever.
This movie should be used at films schools as an example of how NOT to make a movie. What's wrong with it?
1. The Score. There was none. The entire movie contains less than three minutes of music. 2. The casting. Not bad, just lacks all imagination. Imagine, Jimmy Stewart as a bookish lawyer, and John Wayne as a smooth-talking cowboy. How original! 3. The story telling. The movie is told in flashback, so we know immediately that: Jimmy Stewart's character survives and gets elected to office, John Wayne's character survives, Jimmy gets the girl, and the bad guy gets shot. The result is that the movie lacks anything resembling drama. 4. Cheezy sets. Sure, it's old, and this should be taken into consideration, but when you see the set they used for the wooded path where Stoddard gets mugged, your first reaction will be laughter. Couldn't they just find a real wooded path? 5. Poor technical management. Example, the Duke blows out a match and chucks it to the floor. But, he can't even blow it out, so he chucks it down still flaming. Stewart has been shot in the arm...shot so badly, he has troubles walking, so he supports himself with...the arm that was shot. The list goes on.
This movie should have ended half an hour before it did...watch it and you'll see what I mean.
Watching this while understanding it's 40 years old may make this seem better than I've made it out to be, but even then, it's still bad.
