Klassikko (2001)
Finnish men indeed.
Director Väänänen has a heart.
When Finnish movie production has gone to 21st century. Väänänen takes a look back to the 80's.
This enjoyable movie includes three enjoyable male characters played buy excellent actors:
A writer, who is desperately trying to get his book published so that he could buy a car of HIS dreams.
A policeman, who adores (like he says) REAL drunk drivers.
A car salesman, who adores Arvi Lind (a well known news reporter in Finland).
This movie is not produced in Hollywood. It don't even try to pretend it.
Le livre des désirs (1996)
Open the doors and face your hidden fantasies
I haven't seen much erotic movies, but this one catched my intrest, not only by it's erotic scenes, but also with it's story.
Two researchers are working on a machine, which is supposed to relax it's user by taking him to a trip into his mind. There people would face their fantasies, understand their own fears and become more relaxed in their social life.
However someone might find that his life ain't worth coming back from the unreal, and addiction is endangering the whole project.
The message in this film: Facing your fears in real life is the way to your fantasies come true.
My question: Why does fantasies have to come true?
Pearl Harbor (2001)
Where do they come up with this stuff?
This movie was predictable. It had nothing new. Someone made a great deal of money putting 'Titanic' and 'Saving Private Ryan' together. What next? "Last Kiss in Hanoi"? Michael and Randall truly made their way to my black list.
But. If you did like 'Godzilla' (1998) or 'Armageddon', you love this one. Otherwise, buy a bottle of Black Velvet before watching good old Ben.
