Parking (2023)
Ego destroys all !!! What a brilliant film !!!
This film is based on a petty parking issue between two tenants which leads to bigger tussle day by day and all credit goes to the ego as noone is ready to back down.
The movie is so engaging and becomes as interesting as it moves forward. Cleverly put, absolutely relatable and natural performances by the entire cast. It has amazing twists so I won't give any spoilers.
I would highly recommend it being so relatable, interesting and a really different theme. Really, I enjoyed every bit of it. This film should have made more waves, really underrated one.
It's streaming on Disney Hotstar and available in multiple languages. I watched the Hindi dubbed version. Must watch!!!
Shekhar Home (2024)
A masterpiece!!
Shekhar Home is a brilliant short series available on Jio cinema based on the work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes. It stars Kay Kay Menon, Ranvir Shorey, Rasika Dugal, Kirti Kulhari.
With this brilliant cast and sharp story, each episode unfolds a new case but the climax holds something really unexpected. Watch it if you like Detective series, also because it's a non-glam, realistic show based on the year 1993; reminds of the famous Byomkesh Bakshi.
It also resonates with the work of Agatha Christie, my personal favourite crime author. Such masterpieces are made once in a while, a must watch!!
Munjya (2024)
A fresh tale, an enjoyable horror-comedy!!
Watched this new horror-comedy movie in theatre today...and must say both horror and comedy parts are pretty enjoyable!!
It's amazing to see movies that actually tell a story instead of just glamourizing and star bombing and Munjya is one of them.
The best part: a fresh story based on a folktale (giving a Street and Bhediya vibe), good mix of horror and comedy, enjoyable characters; especially Abhay Verma who gives Harry Potter vibes (atleast to me) is the soul of the film, Sharvari was decent, Mona Singh was amazing as usual among others.
The songs are decent, specially loved Taras which is already a chartbuster. Overall it has both freshness and entertainment quotient...
If you enjoyed Street, you will enjoy this too!!
No spoilers!!
Amar Singh Chamkila (2024)
Pure Magic!!! Imtiaz Ali is back and how!!!
Amar Singh Chamkila now streaming on Prime video, is nothing less than magic on screen. Beautifully capturing the story, perfectly paced, with brilliant performances and a fantastic music album, it is a must watch.
The Best Part: It gives an absolutely realistic and immersive cinematic experience. I am sure while watching the movie, you will feel that you are living through it. No drama, just pure storytelling.
Secondly, it is a full fledged film which will take you through all the emotions with its comedy, despair, helplessness, loss, wits and music.
And obviously, Diljit was magical and effortless as Chamkila. And this might be his career best performance.
The most loved part is the music of this film, combining the ones from Chamkila X Amarjot and the film's composition. The songs Kan kar gal sun (Chamkila X Amarjot) and Ishq Mitaye (Mohit Chauhan) are now on my playlist.
I have really seen this kind of pure cinema after a long long time.
Final Verdict: It's a Pure Magic and a Must Watch !!
Merry Christmas (2024)
Engaging edge of the seat thriller after long!!
Merry Christmas is an engaging thriller which will keep you guessing the next move till the end. It involves suspense and crime.
It will take you to the olden time and you will love all the minute details of the setting to make it look eerie. Even the old songs and background score add to the thrill in the film.
What I loved were the story which is fresh and based on a novel, all the performances: Vijay and Katrina both were apt, also the supporting cast Radhika Apte, Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak and Ashwini were also superb, the minute details for a suspense film and the reference of old songs added to the thrill.
I just didn't like the ending that much..it is somewhere left for us to think. I would love to discuss with someone who has watched it!!
Dunki (2023)
A fresh story with a beautiful message!!!
Dunki is yet another masterpiece from Rajkumar Hirani for sure and just like his other ventures, this film too will show you so much through its story and leave you with a lot of ponder on.
Personally, I loved the concept of the film, and all the details of how people follow this Donkey Process which does feel like overdone in the film but it shocked me when I found it's actually happening in real, it's unbelievable but true that there are people out there who go through almost anything to end up in their dream country.
Performances are all good but kudos to Vicky Kaushal who looked the most natural in his role. SRK and Tapsee were also amazing but Vicky still would take the top spot. And I enjoyed the music, with only one dance song, it's is a no-nonsense film and that's the best thing.
I could only see two shortcomings; the older versions could do with a better makeup for sure and the second half looked a bit rushed while the first half was perfectly paced.
Overall, it's a must watch in the sense of a fresh cinema, a new, simple, beautiful tale with a strong message, no nonsense, no vulgarity which will leave you with something to think about when you leave the theatre.
Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue (2023)
Brilliant edge of the seat experience!!
This is one of the rarest gems from the Indian cinema. A real story which is inspiring and courageous in itself and is wonderfully showcased in the film.
The storytelling is so engaging, a totally edge of the seat experience, an absolutely no nonsense film, but not at all boring. One will literally feel like being a part of the film while watching it.
It's about a successful rescue mission of 65 miners trapped in a flooded situation whose plan is made and led by Jaswant Singh Gill, a mining engineer.
The performances, especially by Akshay Kumar is one of his finest, I actually recalled his performance in Kesari; absolutely natural and convincing. The supporting cast was the perfect choice too; Ravi Kishan was a lovely presence a miner; Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Varun Bhadola were all amazing and you will recognise all the actors from here and there.
There are a couple of songs; I really loved the first song; it was a wedding dance number by Akshay; and what a lovely performance; the movie just took off thereon.
It's a must watch film. Watch it to witness the courageous act of a mining engineer who also received the honour for being the Best Life Saver and it's showcased in an utmost sincere, engaging manner.
Jaane Jaan (2023)
A twisted plot with brilliant performances...
The movie beautifully tells an interesting story but with a little unimpressive end.
A thrilling murder mystery is back after a long time. Sujoy Ghosh never fails to do the magic of storytelling. So, it is definitely a one-time watch.
The movie begins introducing Jaideep Ahlawat as the teacher and Kareena Kapoor as a single mother running a cafe. And Vijay Varma enters the plot investigating a murder which links them all.
The story is engaging, performances are brilliant; Kareena perfects the single mother role, Vijay plays that stylish clever cop and Jaideep is incredible as the introvert teacher who silently adores and helps Kareena. The movie showcases beautiful locations.
It also reminds of Drishyam with that careful planning but is always enjoyable. I just expected a better ending which would have made the film perfect. But definitely you can watch the film for the brilliant performances and engaging story.
Jawan (2023)
Complete package: Several stories with a strong message!!!!
Shah Rukh is ultimately back with this wholesome entertainer, only this time with a strong lessoning.
The opening scene itself made the film engaging and no stopping after that. The most interesting element of the film was its storytelling, I was amazed at how each and every scene unfolded and linked to one another, it reminded me of films like Baahubali that have a beautiful narration.
It is a fiction yet showcases corruption in politics with a few references that are realistic and sometimes even with realistic numbers. Issues like farmers committing suicides, defective weapons on duty, shortage of oxygen cylinders at government hospitals, false criminal charges and crowd funding are shown.
Also, the film is laden with amazing songs- I love the entire album: both the love songs, the dance numbers, the BGM and a variety of SRK looks and each one is amazing, I really liked his bald look and the father's look towards the climax.
There are a plenty of characters in the film other than SRK's double role and looks with amazing performances that will keep you glued to the seat.
The SRK's monologue at the end is a cherry on the cake that urges the people to question the government just like we question every small thing we buy from a store.
Overall, Jawan is ticket to a fun-ride with messaging, drama, action, love and loss: all in one.
Dream Girl 2 (2023)
Watch it for Ayushmann and humour!!
This is a sequel to Dreamgirl but the plot remains roughly the same. In order to impress and convince Pari's (Ananya Panday) father, Karam (Ayusmann) takes up the job of a bar dancer as a girl (Pooja) and he dances so well that he ends up getting a lot of male attention and finally a marriage proposal that offers him 50 lakh rupees.
Not seeing any better deal, he agrees to it and the rest is history. But even the history remains the same as the first part. So no surprises on the story here.
What is surprising in this part is the complete transformation of Karam into Pooja while previously it was just the voice, this time it is entirely a girl.
And Ayushmann nails this transformation, nowhere he looks like a guy and the dance performances: both the songs; "Jamnapar" and "Mar jawangi" are beautifully shot and the dancing skills of Ayushmann are terrific; as graceful as any female dancer would have had.
The another good part is that barring a few over the top scenes, the entire film is so humorous; the first scene itself just got me: it opened with the "Jagran" performance on the song "Naach". With actors like Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Anu Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Sudesh Lehri; the film was filled with plenty of punches and gigs. I was in laughs and awe the whole time.
So, watch it for all the humour from amazing pool of actors and definitely Ayushmann!!
OMG 2 (2023)
Unbelievable!!! Powerful Narrative, A Must Watch for all
This film questions openly, what needs to be taught in schools and institutions is often mistaught by the society and this chain continues.
The writing is absolutely incredible. Not even for a second it feels that the movie is just made on a social issue to garner empathy.
The story begins when the Kanti Sharan's (Pankaj Tripathi) son starts facing humiliation and even gets suspended from the school for something which everyone considers sin, even the law and his own family.
Pankaj being a firm believer of Lord Mahadev decides to leave the justice to him. It was then that Lord Mahadev's agent is sent to not only save his son but to make everyone including Kanti, his family, the court and even the society realise that the real fault lies within all of them. Instead of punishing the child, they should aplogize to him and it's high time that the educational institutions become the right source of information for students instead of humiliating and further misguiding them.
It is Pankaj Tripathi's one of the finest performances, absolutely natural and effective with all the elements of humour, sarcasm, worry, all with a catchy accent. Yami is excellent as the antagonist.
Akshay Kumar is back with his charm, his presence, his humour are all memerising. Geeta Agrawal was amazing as Kanti's wife: absolutely natural, innocent, unaware housewife; especially her sobbing and laughing are unmissable. Pavan Malhotra as the judge is wonderful.
The movie is educative, thought provoking, with plenty of humour, wonderful dialogues, with a beautiful and wise use of language and is definitely a must-watch.
It is unbelievable and rare that such a film is made in Hindi cinema and is totally unmissable.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023)
A brilliant film: Thought provoking and a visual spectacle for sure!!
It is one of those films that stay with you even after leaving the theatre. It has, not one but many fascinating scenes and moments that will make you applaud whole heartedly.
The story in itself sounds really simple where a Bengali girl and a Punjabi boy fall in love but this alliance is rejected by their families looking at the cultural differences yet somehow the duo manages to convince them and begin their life together. And very realistically, this sounds simple and gets really difficult and ugly. This is the beauty of the film where Rocky (Ranveer Singh) and Rani (Alia Bhatt) do all of it: themselves at times doubt their compatibilty, even judge each others' family members, keep trying to stay afloat and all these scenes are executed wonderfully, almost naturally. The cinematic elements: dialogues, background score, songs and performances are so strong that you will resonate with them.
This film is an absolute immersive experience backed by superb performances. All the dance scores especially Ranvir's Kathak performance on "Dola re Dola" and Tota Roy Chowdhury's performances were a treat to watch. Not only the performances but the emotions that they trigger were so felt. There were some playful scenes like Rocky would come to pick Rani playing "Aaja meri gaadi mein baithja" and Diljit's "Lover" plays in the background just before the interval: and there are plenty of such nuances in the film.
The ways in which Rani, the sophisticated and modern partner tries to fit into the conservative and strict family of Rocky and vice-versa are really impressive. It also addresses how important it is to accept the vulnerable and emotional side of a man. The scenes where Rocky empathises with Rani's father as they both love to dance and have always felt discouraged for the same are wonderful. Churni is wonderful as a dutiful English teacher. The chemistry of Dharmendra and Shabana has been shown dramatically with some old song references which I personally enjoyed. Jaya is wonderful as almost the anatgonist and also says"Keh diya bas keh diya". All the characters are well written with justified amount of role.
Everything in the film is realistic except the dressing sense of both Rocky and Rani: it is obviously over the top. There are plenty of characters in the movie and it is so much fun and lessoning that this movie entails that it absolutely becomes a must watch. A lot of taboos and mental barriers are addressed which is praiseworthy. What I absolutely loved in the film was that the duo's alliance was not solely based on attraction but actual deep understanding of each other and even their families. Overall, it is a must watch.
Bawaal (2023)
When ego meets humility!!
This movie is a good example of "when ego weds humility" and when that happens, it will create "bawaal" for sure.
There are lot of learnings to take from this romcom. It starts with a really dramatic narration where Varun Dhawan, a school teacher, is introduced as a man who can go to any extent to maintain his image in the society, he disrespects his wife for she was a possible threat to his Mr. Perfect image.
But the story gradually takes form and becomes interesting when he is suspended from the school, his ego and smartness fail and he is taught a lesson.
The key takeaways from this film are its concept, its writing; especially the scenes shot explaining the World War II and the character of Janhvi- it's beautifully written; she tried all possible ways to make their marriage work but when her husband is suspended, not only she saves his job but also makes him realise his mistakes only this time effortlessly and now everything starts working.
It is the hard-work, patience and empathy that brings him out of all the trouble: all thanks to his wife.
All the performances are good; especially Manoj Pahwa who plays Varun Dhawan's father. I also loved the music in the film.
I would recommend this film as a sweet, simple tale that will leave you to ponder over a lot of things we say and do.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (2023)
Interesting concept with good humour!!
In case you still haven't watched the film, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is an overall enjoyable one; surprisingly with a good storyline, though predictable yet interesting to watch.
It hooked me right from the beginning with Bassi (Anubhav Singh Bassi) in the opening scene. And what a debut, Bassi's performance was amazing; noone can tell it is his first break. Initially, Ranbir and Shraddha: their overacting pinched me a bit but later on I got used to it, also because their characters are written that way. Dimple Kapadia was remarkable as Ranbir's mother. I also loved the cameo of Nushrratt and Kartik.
The beginning itself will give you an interesting storyline to watch. There is plenty of humour; specially Bassi's dialogues with his accent are too good. The songs are wonderfully written and shot: I love the whole album. The twists in the movie could be predictable, but the story is well written: you will agree with this more as you reach the end of the film.
So, with an interesting concept, good humour, beautiful album, enjoyable characters and performances; this film is worth a watch !!!
Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side (2020)
A Masterpiece, Both the seasons beautifully crafted !!
It's one of those which you should never miss!!
Asur's concept from the Hindu mythology in itself is enough to give goosebumps to the viewer. But with brilliant writing and execution, it becomes so interesting!!
The best part is both the Seasons are totally enjoyable and wholesome.
The first season keeps you on the edge as every episode entails a mysterious murder and the investigation team is after the killer, joining the dots but the chase ends in a complete mess with loss and grief following which the team gets scattered.
While the second season was about getting all the pieces back together and reuniting the team towards the common goal of catching and eliminating the killer and the mystery just keeps getting better and better as the next episodes keep coming.
The beginning of the Season 2 gets predictable at some places: I agree but it picks up so well to some really unexpected twists and turns, interesting characters and finally a mind blowing climax.
The best part of the Season 2 was that the characters were brought out very well; with a good screen time to Arshad Warsi, Anupriya Goenka, Barun Sobti and Ridhi Dogra and the connection with them from Season 1 is truly felt. And not to forget, Chang was such a beautiful surprise.
Long story short, this is one of the rarest gems of OTT creations from India and totally enjoyable and unmissable blend of mythology and crime.
Also, it is a lethal combination of beautiful writing, storytelling and crisp performances.
Bhediya (2022)
A refreshing change and a sincere attempt !!!
Bhediya which released in theaters back in November 2022 has finally made it to OTT (JioCinema) and you can watch it for free -yes!!!
It is absolutely refreshing to see a film that brings us closer to nature through fantasy amongst the otherwise trending crime series on OTT.
The movie picked up right from start: the first scene opening with Saurabh Shukla and Varun Dhawan; leading us to the wonderful locations in Arunachal Pradesh.
It has catchy songs: I really enjoyed "Baaki sab theek" and "Jungle mein Kaand". The man to wolf transformations are beautifully shot - I loved them.
Varun Dhawan has truly done sincere work and his casting is perfect for this role- the energy, expressions, all on point.
Another remarkable character was of Deepak Dobriyal - I still can't get over his accent and eye movements he uses to do the scare-talk.
Abhishek and Paalin also did good job. Kriti's role could have been well-written though.
The story is quite predictable and simple, but I loved the fact that the movie was inspired by nature. There is a dialogue "Prakriti se hi Pragati hai" ( Nature only will lead to the development )
The entire movie showcases beautiful scenes from Arunachal Pradesh. You can actually spot some location milestones like Ziro in the film.
Overall, the first half was terrific - quick and engaging while the second half got a little slow.
Definitely, Bhediya is a must watch for fantasy and nature lovers and especially for those who want to see something new from Bollywood.
An Action Hero (2022)
Never seen anything like this before!!
The movie is so engaging that it was difficult to take eyes off the screen even for a second.
The best thing about the movie is its concept where an accidental murder turned a reel life action hero into a real life action hero, yes, literally!!
The film is as interesting as the concept sounds, with all the scenes connecting links to the main plot, it is full of twists one after the other and you will just be left wondering what happens next.
I have seen Ayushmann doing action for the first time but it is totally convincing. His performance is brilliant. Jaideep, as the antagonist is the perfect choice as a politician.
Every scene was totally relevant, no unnecessary love angle, no drama, a totally No Nonsense Film.
The dialogues are totally crisp and there is some serious humour on the media's role apart from the already enjoyable Haryanavi accent. I even loved Akshay Kumar's cameo- a cherry on the top. Malaika's cameo also was a sweet surprise.
I liked both the songs in the film as well "Aap Jaisa Koi" and "Jeda Nasha". They too are relevant- you will see how once you watch it.
Right from the fresh plot, interesting characters, convincing performances, enjoyable background music, crisp dialogues, engaging screenplay, well directed action sequences and never ending twists, this movie is a complete package.
COMPLETE PACKAGE OF AMAZING CONCEPT, ACTION, THRILLER AND HUMOUR!!
Monica O My Darling (2022)
What a fun ride!!
This movie is not only a murder mystery but a mystery of several murders. Beautifully written and even more beautifully executed!!
It is a suspense movie so without spilling any beans, I would say that I was hooked right from the first scene of the film which starts with a mysterious death. And it sounds dark, but trust me the track of the film is made so enjoyable that you will love it.
There are a lot of positives of this film; it starts with an interesting plot where blackmails give way to a murder, then another murder and it continues till the mystery is unfolded. The script is very well written, with all the characters and their lives amazingly intertwined into each other's; the credit goes to the Japanese novel "Burutasu No Shinzou" from which this film is adapted.
Each character is given a good screentime and I just loved all of them. Rajkumar as usual was a delight to watch - totally effortless; Huma was on fire literally and Radhika had a smaller role but she nailed it - she had a humorous role as a surprise. Not only Rajkumar, Huma and Radhika but all the actors are on top of their craft.
The most peculiar aspect of the movie was its retro theme music. The background score of the movie totally complemented with the twists and turns. " Yeh EK Zindagi" was ringing in my head even days after watching the film, just loved it.
I watched the whole film in one go and some scenes with literally sitting on the edge of sofa. It was no less than a roller-coaster ride.
I don't want to point out any flaws but the long death-row may look unrealistic but I didn't mind because come on, it's fiction.
Amazing plot, crisp dialogues, wonderful actors along with the retro theme music makes it a total fun ride !!!
Freddy (2022)
A good experiment but could be made more engaging !!
A loner dentist (Kartik) who struggles in striking a conversation with people in general, is desperate to have a partner in his life.
When his life takes a turn as a girl (Alaya) starts taking interest in him, he is ready to do anything for her, even commit a murder. But even if he does so, will he get the girl? Now, the real story begins....
The plot is definitely interesting, fresh, with some twists and turns. All the performances are amazing. Needless to say, Kartik has done a great job; his expressions, dialogue delivery, appearance, subtle dance moves all were accurate and true to his character. Infact all the characters are well-written. Alaya and Karan have also done a good job.
I found the music totally relevant. I remember I enjoyed the songs "Kala Jaadu" and "Tum jo milo". There were times when the movie became really enjoyable when Freddy started his revenge game.
Now the negatives, the movie catches up a little slow. And, the climax also becomes slow and predictable. Also, there is a scene where Kartik pulls off the teeth to take revenge; which was not only irrelevant but not a believable scene because Freddy was just a regular dentist and not a psychopath - you will agree with me on this after watching the film.
Overall, the experimental characters and script makes the film really worth-watching!!
Goodbye (2022)
Beautifully showcases a sensitive truth of life with the touch of reality !!!
The trailer of the movie itself tells the tale of Goodbye and that's how the movie starts: with the Goodbye of a loved one.
Being a sensitive topic, I was going to skip this film but honestly I am really glad that I could make up my mind to watch it.
The movie showcases how a typical Indian family who has lived all united till the kids are young and building their life together, eventually gets caught up in their own individual lives with the children moving out, some who have got married, others are out to study or to work and have a very little time to spare for one another unlike before.
And one day, the news of death of a loved one among them unites all the grown-ups. The reunion starts on a sad note with all the crying and complaining stuff but later on turns into a place where everyone relives the moments of past, relishing those big-small talks, those family jokes, accepting the flaw-some habits of each other, realising the truth as it was and taking new learnings for life thereon.
There is a warm feeling throughout the movie. It is written in such a way that it does not feel like an act. All the actors have done an impressive work. Still, I will say that Amitabh and Neena stole the show. They were unbelievable.
The music of the movie was truly endearing- big cheers to Amit Trivedi who never misses a chance to impress. Its popular hits are "Beautiful" and "Hick".
The best surprise element was Sunil Grover as a priest and he was top-notch. Not only his acting skills were mature but also his role was really critical to the story.
There are a lot of peculiar characters and elements in the movie some of which are the dog- I just loved it and the neighbours - just see for yourself (won't spoil).
I would say Not To Be Missed !!!
Mili (2022)
A sincere survival thriller !!
Mili is the official Hindi remake of the original Malayalam film titled 'Helen', both directed by Mathukutty Xavier.
The plot involves Mili, just a girl-next-door who is educated and wants to earn well for her family. Just before she is finally set to leave for Canada, her life takes a turn when she gets accidentally trapped in a walk-in freezer late at night while everyone is searching for her.
Although this trap situation reminded me of a Hollywood film P2 where the lead actress gets stuck in the parking lot with a psychopath, yet Mili was quite different as it shows a more "realistic situation of negligence" not involving any kidnap or ransom, just the regular people doing regular jobs. This was the best thing about the film.
The film does not miss any chance to show the typical mindset of the people about almost everything. You will enjoy this aspect throughout the movie.
Then ofcourse the survival techniques that Mili uses are impressive. She used every possible way to keep herself alive, recalling the learnings from her nursing practice, her father's words and the resources available in that single room. It therefore speaks of a very strong message that "Whatever we learn in life surely helps us at some point of time"
With the relatable characters, sincere performances by the entire cast; especially Janhvi since she led the film, right play of sequences, this movie convincingly speaks of courage, willpower, love, hope and trust.
The end was no doubt predictable that the lead would survive but it is a positive aspect because the film is about survival.
DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!!
Doctor G (2022)
One of its kind !!
Watching Ayushmann dealing with social issues on screen is not a new idea for sure yet there is another unexplored concept to look for in his new venture Doctor G.
The movie is as interesting as its idea sounds; absolutely well- written with a touch of light humour - there are some good gags on stereotypes that exist around the problems related to women: "stree rog" as mentioned in the movie soaks you well in the world of gynaecologists.
It has good dialogues and the right casting - especially Shefali Shah and Sheeba Chaddha will just amaze you with their screen presence. Ayushmann does his job really well as usual: this time as an underperforming medical student. Even Rakul's performance was satisfactory.
I loved the movie for taking up that unspoken subject, decent writing and the brilliant choice of lead actors. I personally found some bits of Ayushmann's personal life stretchy and the supporting cast underused - for example the tenant at Ayushmann's place could have been written as an interesting character.
Thank God (2022)
Great combination of entertainment and life lessoning !!!
The story begins when a corrupt man ( the protagonist) meets an accident and is taken by Yamdut (YD as in the film) to heaven where he needs to play the Game of Life with Chitragupt (CG) and by winning it, he can save his life.
The concept here is not really new, neither for Bollywood or Hollywood - 100% agreed but honestly the movie really starts right after it, when CG starts the game and challenges the man with different situations, each ending with a lesson and filled with some enjoyable punches and characters.
The positives first: The idea, writing, humour, the choice of actors is impressive; especially how every task was related to a quality of a person. I personally was at the edge all the time waiting for the next task and the next move of the protagonist.
Now, the negatives: The VFX was noticeably not good. It's just that I personally really enjoy the fantasy stuff and it was really well written that it did not bother me much but a technical person would notice it every now and then. Secondly, the sad story of Sid's sister was really unrealistic where her father didn't talk to her for the entire life - you will understand once you watch the film ( won't spoil it).
So, overall the film was really enjoyable and filled with some really relevant life lessons that we know all the time but often forget.
" Definitely a One Time Watch "
Guilty Minds (2022)
Kudos for a Great attempt but could have been better !!!
This series is for those who love courtroom drama and also for those who want to watch something different !!!
This is a courtroom drama based Indian web series available on Amazon prime video with Shriya Pilgaonkar, Varun Mitra, Namrata Seth and Sugandha Garg in major roles.
Each of its 10 episodes comes up with a different case and will keep you engaged with really thoughtful and realistic issues and personally I feel this is the best part of this series.
Talking of the performances, the choice of actors is really really good and promising for future seasons to follow.
You will watch the legal battles most of the times but the personal lives of the lawyers is also seen in between which I could not really connect with much. The whole time, I just wanted to skip to the good part ( the case ) and this was a Not so impressive part of the show.
So, it is definitely a one-time-watch with its own pros and cons. With good response from most of the viewers and owing to some good content and performances of various actors, the season to follow could actually be way better !!!
