Strange Darling (2023)
Wow, wow, wow! What happened?
One of the most annoying yet good movies I've seen lately. The movie is divided into 6 parts. However, the parts do not appear on the screen in order. This keeps the audience glued to the screen with curiosity throughout the movie.
The director plays with the audience and is really successful in doing so. The acting is also quite good. The music is also nice.
The plot claims to be inspired by a true event. A story is created based on the statements of eyewitnesses to the event. This claim of a true event may also be a fairy tale made up to attract the attention of the audience.
The story is a serial killer story. The killer, who kills many people, men and women, is last seen in a forest area and then the murders end. This information is already given before the movie starts. Then the 6 parts are given in a mixed order.
There is a lot of sexuality in the movie but no nudity.
Trap (2024)
Shyamalan was one became two
The movie that I decided to watch without researching and got stressed as soon as I saw the writer and director.
I feel like I'm being taken for a fool when I watch this guy's movies and I get angry.
And seeing him in small roles makes me even angrier.
What were you, what have you become Shymalan. For the first time in my life, I will witness a person who started as a master and finished as an apprentice.
Daddy, what kind of directing is this that everyone including your daughter acted like amateurs. In other words, you couldn't direct anyone. The plots are ridiculous, the characters are caricatures in every movie.
What can I say about the movie? A concert is organized where it is known that a serial killer will go. There is a supposedly very cunning FBI lady who is constantly grinning. There is a killer who is even more cunning than him. And there are a lot of little Shyamalan's concerts. In fact, half of the movie is this girl's concert. I only miss Josh Hartnett. Everyone else is empty.
MaXXXine (2024)
I had a hard time finishing the movie
One of the movies that I got extremely bored while watching. I don't understand why it was overrated. I watched 3.5 half-hour episodes.
There is no excitement, no fluidity, no intriguing subject, no music that has been engraved in my memory in the movie. I guess Mia Goth's acting doesn't seem sincere to me. Ti West, on the other hand, can't pull off horror. It's been 3, this duo couldn't get past mediocrity.
Unfortunately, these killer movies targeting certain women don't bring anything new. I finished the movie with boredom. Let's see what else these duo, who have ruined their minds with porn, will do.
Lowlifes (2024)
I swear I'm angry
Although the movie is interesting and based on twists and turns, I didn't like it very much because the characters are caricatured. However, the movie achieved its goal and managed to annoy me.
I think its IMDb score is higher than it should be.
There is a family. They are having a barbecue in a field with their caravan. Then two young people who we think will cause trouble come and mess with the family. The family gets together and sets off. However, they encounter these young people again on the road. The movie starts from here.
The heavy revenge in the last part really created excitement, that deputy sheriff drove me crazy.
There is sexuality in the movie but there is no nudity.
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007)
Great acting, great music and extraordinary narration.
I turned on the movie and watched it without paying attention. I was extremely bored for the first hour. I said, "Man, how could this movie get such a high score?" I fell asleep for the last hour. The sound of the movie was very low anyway. The next day, I thought, "What kind of a western movie is this?" and I still turned on the last hour and put on my headphones. I started hearing the music of the movie and my hair started to stand on end and I finished the whole movie and froze. I turned the movie on again. I watched it once more from the beginning and was amazed by the movie, the music, and the acting. I didn't know who to feel sorry for.
Jesse James being a feared bandit and getting paranoid that he would be sold out by his men, staying away from his family because of this fear
Being the youngest among Robert Ford's men, also growing up as a Jessi James fan, shooting Jessi James in the back for money and fame, and even though he got the fame and money he expected, being called a traitor by the people, the depression he experienced and himself being killed for fame.
It's like I watched a beautiful fairy tale with a wonderful backstory accompanied by wonderful music. The music is still ringing in my ears. I think it's one of those movies that tastes better when watched a second time.
You'll Never Find Me (2023)
It could have been a legendary thriller
Let me say the last word first. It was going to be a legendary movie but it turned upside down with a breaking point. It reminded me a little of the movie "10 Cloverfield Lines". That movie is also one of my favorite horror movies.
The movie starts with a woman coming to a man living alone in his trailer on a stormy night and asking for help. After letting the woman in, the man tries to stall her so as not to send her out. The tension increases as the conversation between them continues.
The gradually increasing tension, the lies of both sides, the man being completely untrustworthy, the woman's incoherent speeches are all going well. But there is a breaking point. The man gives the woman drugs and waits for her to die. When the woman dies, something happens to the man and when the man reveals the woman's face, he sees that she is actually the woman he killed before, in fact the first one. Then he enters a spiral of hallucinations. On the one hand, the dead women come back to life and on the other hand, the police knock on the door of the trailer. And it turns out that all these last events were the man's dreams under the influence of the drugs.
I expected that the woman was actually the first victim and somehow didn't die. Let's pretend that she drank the drug and gave it to the man, and then pretend that she died, and when the man fell ill under the effect of the drug and opened the cover that he had put on the woman's face, the woman would actually be awake and take revenge on the man for all the women he had killed.
Because the normal movie was inconclusive. It just introduced the killer to the audience.
The movie keeps the audience glued to the screen by creating curiosity. It's not a bad movie.
There is no sexuality or nudity in the movie.
IV. Murat (1981)
It's a good series, even if it has some minor flaws.
A 4-part work about one of the most important sultans of the Ottoman Empire, made in 1981, which shows both the current period and the intrigues in the empire. The acting is generally good. The striking point is that most of the historical details are not skipped. A series ahead of its time for its time.
The Ottoman Empire is in a period of stagnation. The authority of the sultans, especially over the Janissaries, is on the verge of ending. Sultan Osman II, who is likely to be one of the most important reformists, was murdered by the Janissaries and Murat IV was appointed as the sultan at a young age (11). Therefore, during his immature years, the empire was ruled by his mother Kosem Sultan and the grand vizier. However, Murat IV was a smart man and in time he seized power and began to become authoritarian. When he fully seized power, he sometimes suffered from power poisoning from a present-day perspective. Very important figures also lived in his time. The ones that make you smile are Bekri Mustafa and the respected satirist Nefi. It is a great deficiency that Hezarfen Ahmet Celebi is not mentioned in the series.
Another deficiency is that Cihan Unal does not have the arms to lift the mace, which is assumed to weigh 100 kilos.
Das Boot (1981)
In one word, a magnificent masterpiece.
It is a masterpiece far beyond its time, both in terms of its filming quality, its music and its ability to draw the viewer in. You embark on a three and a half hour journey in a submarine with that crew. Their joys become your joy, their sorrows become your sorrow. What is interesting is that you experience the same feelings on the second viewing of this film.
A film that is hard to shake off, perhaps one that I cannot replace with another film, and deserves a 10 out of 10 in every sense.
The music is familiar from old Turkish films. Man, there is no such thing as plagiarism. Put Erinnerung in love films, Bedrohung in detective and mafia films. It is a theft that should be ashamed of.
The acting is incredibly natural. In other words, it is as if the film was shot right during the Second World War, instead of acting for the film.
Perhaps for the first time, a film shows the war from the Germans' perspective. The helplessness of the men devastates the viewer. All emotions are included in the film. The moment when the soldiers who were happy to hit the British ship jump into the sea and are shocked and frozen. The food runs out. Running out of fuel. Being attacked. Landing on the bottom. And the devastating ending.
The first time I watched the movie, I was under its spell for days. The second time I watched it, I watched it as if I wanted the ending to change, but of course it was the same devastating ending.
Especially the actor who plays the commander has such high charisma that he becomes the commander of not only the submarine but also the entire audience.
I think the movie is a must-watch. After watching it, you will agree with me by saying how a movie from 1981 can keep people so attached to the screen.
The Watchers (2024)
So so
One of the not bad movies I've watched recently. There are all the known clichés about being lost in the woods and creatures. It is watched with interest. Of course, there are a lot of things that don't make sense. How was that hut built? How did the man live until it was built? Etc.
So why do these creatures only copy by watching? How can people stay there for months and not see the door on the ground?
The twists and turns in the movie were nice. But wasn't that ending too simple for the movie?
Also why is he still following the woman?
The most beautiful thing in the movie is the yellow parrot.
There is no sexuality or nudity in the movie.
The Strangers: Chapter 1 (2024)
It was not necessary?
When I saw the movie, I thought "it will go back to the beginning of the events, it will tell why the 3 murderers started this job, and who will Tamara appear?"
However, the film was released as an updated version of the first film. It was a huge disappointment to me. Why was there a need to update the same section again when we already had a version that was not bad and outdated?
What is wanted to do is to progress a little further on the woman who did not die in the first episode.
Since I forgot the previous parts of this movie, I opened this movie after watching the 2008 and 2018 versions again. It was disappointing for me.
Disturbia (2007)
15th grade version of the movie Rear Window
There are no mind games in the movie. Everything is clear from the beginning.
The movie is based on the story of a few horny teenagers. The lead character constantly makes exaggerated movements. He is one of those people who say that if he were a child, you would love him with gloves. In these American movies, if there is a pool in the next house and there is a young girl in that house, they are happy to be watched in every movie.
Here, a voyeuristic teenager watches the people with binoculars and thinks he has found the serial killer mentioned in the news.
Sexuality and nudity are ignored in the film, but there are insinuations. It's a youth movie.
Sous la Seine (2024)
Sharks fight for a more livable world
Sir, are you kidding? One cannot make fun of one's mind like this. What a movie this is. Sharks are smarter than humans.
There is even a scene where there is a stupid girl. The girl is in a place like a cistern. The shark is crazy. They tell him to get out of the water, but he stubbornly refuses to get out of the water. When the shark ate that girl, I was going to get in the car and go out to celebrate in the city square.
When a movie becomes illogical, it automatically becomes boring. But the explosion scene was beautiful. Of course, whatever all that ammunition is looking for on the bottom of the Seine River. All of Paris was living under bombs.
I openly said that a swimming record would come in the movie, but it did not happen.
There is no sexuality or nudity in the movie.
Druk (2020)
Eliminate alcohol in the house before watching the movie
It's a movie that makes you want to drink alcohol. So, truly enjoying life can be enjoyable. But it's bad that addiction always wants more and more.
There is a lot of black humor in the movie. All of the men's lives are asocial and they have lost contact with everyone. But they make life fun for themselves by following a theory. Of course, this will harm all of them in the future. All the actors do great roles. Mads Mikkelsen plays characters who are either unable to communicate or are depressed in almost every movie. But it suits the man too.
While watching the movie, the desire to consume alcohol simultaneously becomes truly extreme.
There is a sexual scene in the movie.
Death Wish (2018)
The new remake of this movie is illogical
Now when the first version of this movie was made in 1974 (starring Charles Bronson) there were no security cameras, no cell phones. That's why no one can see the man.
But it's a comedy that they can't identify the man in the present in this new cycle. Also, come on, you can't find him by image, he leaves a lot of traces. Detectives don't seem to swallow ashes either.
In Bruce Willis's last movies, they cast him in such cheap movies that they exhausted the legend of the 80s and 90s.
Dear producers, not every old movie that works can be adapted to today. You can make similar topic more creative. Example, Law Abiding Citizen.
There is no sexuality or nudity in the movie.
Night Swim (2024)
crazy water from hell
Another movie to be added to the most ridiculous horror movies I've ever seen in my life.
A film with a barren theme, full of clichés from beginning to end. The main theme is the cursed house.
A family buys a house. The house has a pool or something. The family is also susceptible to this. But the pool is cursed. Yes, you read it right, the pool is cursed.
A lot of attention is paid to the phobia of drowning in water. Since the movie is not believable, it cannot be scary. Also, the way the Americans in these movies react when a family member dies, as if it were a very ordinary event, makes me sick.
There is no sexuality or nudity in the movie.
Mob Land (2023)
Sleep time
When I looked at the cast, I started watching with hope despite the low score. But the movie was quite ordinary and very lifeless.
A similar scenario that has been done many times. That's why, while watching the movie, I felt like I had watched it before. I thought Travolta would be much more active in the movie. I thought the story would be a gripping revenge story. I even thought the movie was a western because of its poster. They were all disappointments.
The movie can be used as a treatment for those suffering from insomnia. Because it makes you sleep well.
A man living in a town and his wife's brother are committing an amateur robbery. The drug lord, whose money was stolen, sends his hitman after them. That's what the movie is about.
Whether Travolta was the sheriff or the hitman remains unclear.
There is no sexuality or nudity in the movie.
The Beautiful Game (2024)
Arrogance has won
A 2024 Netflix movie about football. But it's not a normal football game. It is similar to the game we used to play as a miniature castle. It is a 14-minute game played with a team of 5 people.
Here too, the British coach has set up a team, but he sees someone who is playing around with the kids. He takes him to the team and participates in the Homeless World Cup. The main character of the movie is not a very sympathetic character. That's why I think the movie couldn't go beyond mediocre.
Take a professional football player who once played as a young talent but whose star has faded, and put him in the cup created by men who have never kicked a football 5 times in their life. So it happened now? The man satisfied his ego, broke all the odds due to his arrogance, and changed the entire fate of the tournament.
Besides, why was there a need to bury the Japanese so much?
There is no sexuality or nudity in the movie.
Le règne animal (2023)
Superheroes of other universes
It is a 2023 fantasy drama film of French origin. In the movie, there is an epidemic that turns people into animals. People start killing creatures because they cannot find a cure for this disease.
The film is about a man trying to find his wife, who has transformed due to the epidemic, before anyone else. But the real incident happens between the man and his son. These two don't get along very well. The boy is very headstrong, the man is authoritarian. But when the child also catches the epidemic, they begin to get closer.
The ending of the movie is emotional and the music playing in the background is great. I can say that the relationship between the girl and the boy is suspended.
There is a small sexual scene in the movie.
The Tank (2023)
Those who don't watch don't lose anything
Horror movie made in 2023. But I have watched so many movies that I can say are the same as this one. Even though I didn't like this style very much, the movie "The Descent", which was shot in two parts, was much more exciting and I liked this movie.
In this movie, a couple who run a pet shop inherits a house from the man's mother. The house is in the forest and on the seashore. It looks like there is a creature wandering around the house. While the man's wife and daughter are afraid, the man is stubborn to stay in that house (I have never understood his stubbornness to stay in that house in such movies). Then it is suspected that it is the creature living in the house's water tank.
The movie is neither scary nor exciting. I think it was an extremely unnecessary production.
There is no sexuality or nudity in the movie.
Cobweb (2023)
Cliché but not bad
A horror movie with a very familiar theme. I mean, I felt like I'd watched the movie before. The only thing that makes a difference is the spider shape. In these previous films it's usually a ghost.
A child exposed to peer bullying, a strange mother and father and voices coming from behind the wall.
Although it is completely cliché in terms of plot and scenes, it gives a feeling of tension. At least I didn't regret it after watching it. But that ending never happened. There are also a few scenes that do not make sense in the movie. Okay, you made the girl look like a spider, but for example, how did the house door close when she grabbed the child by the hair and escaped from the ceiling?
There is no sexuality or nudity in the movie.
Barbie (2023)
We watched an advertisement the size of a movie
The film puts forward the absurd argument that the toy that every girl in the world cannot access has helped all girls in the world become free individuals. But we can actually call this movie a feature-length advertisement. A long marketing film that tells the history of Barby. There are even plenty of musical scenes to fill the movie time. We are used to such tricks from Turkish TV series.
A Barby universe has been created in the toy world. This movie also takes place in this universe. While Barby is perfect in everything, suddenly things start to go wrong. It is thought that this is caused by the unhappiness of the child who has it in the real world, and Barby comes to the real world with Ken. She sees that the real world is not perfect like her universe. Then he looks for the girl who owns it.
The costumes and the universe created are beautiful. The characters are too cartoonish. The plot is ridiculous, the ending is even more ridiculous.
It took great courage to accept the role of Ken. A character that resets all charisma. From now on, if I come across the movie Drive, this movie comes to my mind.
In conclusion, I would like to ask, what happened with the Ken issue?
Old Man (2022)
Don't talk a lot
Thriller movie made in 2022. It's a boring movie that only takes place in a cabin and contains only two-way dialogue. At first I thought the movie was a sequel to "Don't Breathe". But it wasn't a sequel.
An old man living in a hut wakes up and looks for his dog. When he opens the door, a young man stands in front of the door. He lets the man in. Then a long conversation begins. They both share stories from their lives. The stories intersect with each other.
The movie is constantly talking. More interesting versions of similar topics were made. There is no element of fear. The tension dose is light and cannot be increased. The score given is considered high for this genre.
There is no nudity or sexuality in the movie.
The Nature of the Beast (1995)
A movie that has stood the test of time
I started watching this movie about halfway through in '96 or '97 when my mother said, "It looks like a good movie." The ending was a big surprise. This movie has always remained in my dreams as a wonderful movie. I searched on the internet for years and couldn't find it.
Recently, I came across the movie on a website. I downloaded and watched it with enthusiasm. But some things are beautiful when they are found. The movie did not grab the attention both in terms of tempo and acting. I'm already annoyed with Eric Roberts, who I don't remember as the second character to play in this movie over the years. In the role, he portrays a grinning and repulsive character.
A saleswoman picks up a hitchhiker on the road. Murders are committed along their route. The saleswoman is worried about this hitchhiker.
There is a scene in the movie that contains nudity and sexuality.
Beshenstvo (2023)
A movie full of tension
Russian horror movie made in 2023. The tension dose is on point. I felt cold while watching. It's not a bad movie in my opinion.
A father brings his drug-addicted son to a mountain town to save him. It's winter. Wolves are attacking the town. The wolf pack is infected with rabies. Now the father has to save both his son and his own life.
The real death toll occurs in the bear attack, which makes me say oh my god.
The only thing I'm stuck on is how the kid got out of that drug addiction immediately.
Aleksey Serebryakov, whom we know as the mafia boss in the movie Nobody, stars in the movie. The acting is quite good.
There is no sexuality or nudity in the movie.
Irréversible (2002)
Gore, sex and screaming
It is a movie made in 2002. It is quite difficult to specify the genre of the movie. It's like a thriller with elements of pornographic horror.
While watching the movie, I immediately thought of Climax. It was already a movie by the same director. Again, the use of constantly rotating cameras, drug addiction, sex and brutality. The movie starts from the end and goes backwards piece by piece. Everything that is against society is present in the movie.
A woman, her boyfriend, and her ex-husband are going to a party together. The woman gets tired of her boyfriend's chatter at the party and decides to return home. On her way to the subway, she enters an underpass. At that moment, the man coming from the other side rapes this woman. Then he smashes his face. The woman's lover and ex-husband are also looking for this man for revenge. They think they found it and kill another man. Meanwhile, the rapist man watches these with laughter.
The movie is as above, with lots of genitals, shouting and nonsense. The brutal part is the rape scene, the scenes where the woman's face and the man's face are torn apart in the finale.
There are two good things about this terrible movie. One is Monica Belluci, the other is Thomas Bangalter's Symphony No. 7 In A Major Op. 92 pieces.
There is plenty of sexuality and nudity in the movie.
