The Saratov Approach (2013)
Excellent inspirational film
From one humble Christian's perspective...
Language level: 1 out of 5 Nothing objectionable.
Sexual level: 0 out of 5 Absolutely none.
Violence level: 2.5 out of 5 Some fighting, being held at gunpoint, etc. May not be suitable for children under the age of 13.
Personal Thoughts: An excellent inspirational film, with a message of Christian hope.
My Cousin Rachel (2017)
Haunting and beautiful
From one humble Christian's perspective...
Language level: 4 out of 5 A few utterances of high-level profanity. Large parts of the movie seem clean.
Sexual level: 2 out of 5 One scene shows two people crawling into bed together, and the next morning, both are probably not wearing any clothing. Another scene shows them having sex, though no nudity.
Violence level: 1 out of 5 Barely none, perhaps just a fiery argument or two.
Personal Thoughts: A beautifully-made and haunting version of a Gothic classic. There are some instances of the story veering slightly from the book, but for the most part, it was done very well.
Allied (2016)
Interesting WWII story
From one humble Christian's perspective...
Language level: 5 out of 5 High-level profanity is used all throughout the film.
Sexual level: 5 out of 5 Some sex scenes and a topless woman is shown.
Violence level: 4 out of 5 There are airplanes being shot down, guns being used, etc.
Personal Thoughts: An interesting historical drama concerning WWII, about love, espionage, war.
Edward Scissorhands (1990)
Not scary, but creepily fascinating
From one humble Christian's perspective...
Language level: 3 out of 5 At least one utterance of high-level profanity. Most of the movie seems fairly clean, except for a couple of words.
Sexual level: 2 out of 5 Some sexual innuendo throughout. One woman removes her clothes seductively and tries to tempt.
Violence level: 2 out of 5 Edward is constantly snipping things accidentally. There is a fight that leads to death.
Personal Thoughts: Not as scary as one might think. It's more of a creepy comical movie than it is actually scary.
