Bazodee (2015)
Nice feel-good movie set in Trinidad & Tobago
Didn't come here to comment until I noted the following ignorant comment: "Is there some new place where England, Jamaica, India and China meet?" For the record, the local accent is Trinidadian (not Jamaican.) Also, there is nothing weird about Chinese representation; there is such a thing as multiculturalism in some places, of which Trinidad is an example.
I quite enjoyed this movie. As with many feel-good movies, some of the plot is predictable. The casting was very well done for the most part. I think they did an excellent job of integrating the music without wearing down the script. It's a nice change from mainstream Hollywood-type scripts. Really happy to be living in a time where there is greater access to diversity in film.
Ghett'a Life (2011)
This movie deserves a wider audience
I saw this movie for the TT Film Festival and it was well worth my time. Really well-written screenplay that draws attention to this particular political/gangster issue. The actor playing the lead role gives a compelling performance. In fact, the casting, in general, was on point.
I, too, don't understand the 5 rating while acknowledging it to be a good movie.
Julie Lescaut (1992)
Great crime/mystery show
Really surprised at the poor reviews this has gotten. The lead actress does an excellent job of tough cop and likeable character. Solid plot lines and good acting from supporting cast.
Quite an enjoyable watch.
Secret Obsession (2019)
Can be likened to a very weak Lifetime movie
The plot and acting on this show was so weak. Lifetime-type storyline, but with worse plot development.
Land Girls (2009)
Great drama-filled series
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Perhaps those looking for historical accuracy will find faults, but if you are looking for a well-developed drama and superior casting and acting, this series is really one of a kind. I didn't know any of the actors prior to watching, but really appreciated all of them even the vilains.
Wonderful piece of drama. I've watched the series twice!
