Cinnamon (2023)
Excellent.
Finally got around to it and thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I appreciated the pace and cinematography. Even after watching the trailer, I still didn't know what to expect. It held my attention, made me laugh, and I liked the plot twists. I also love how memorable each character is, even in the smaller roles (like Toni lol).
I really came across this film because I had randomly been wondering 'why haven't I seen Damon Wayans in more stuff' right before this released, so the timing was a cool coincidence. Then recognizing more familiar actors casted prompted me even further to make sure I watched it. Hailey Kilgore & David Iacono did amazingly, of course. Everybody did.
The melody toward the end, right before they drove away, reminded me of 'Young, Dumb, and Broke' from Khalid. Nice touch. Lol.
Halloween Ends (2022)
I demand a do-over!
The face-off is literally the only significant aspect of this film, and you have to sit through an hour and a half to see what you came for.
I was not a fan of the Allyson-Corey storyline; it felt like filler because it WAS. The pace of this movie is absolutely yawn inducing.
It didn't make sense that everyone went from calling Laurie a paranoid loon in the first one, to being on her side in the second one, then right back to demonizing her in this one.
It wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but it was definitely disappointing. They surely fumbled these last 2 films, as I think the first one is the only 1 of the 3 with rewatch quality. This would've been better off as a straight to tv/streaming appetizer film (but shorter), not paraded with grandeur as being thee conclusion to an iconic series.
I refuse to believe that this is the last & final film of the franchise. I will not accept this. They're wrong.
Rel (2018)
I guess I'm an anomaly...
Loved this show when it premiered, tuned in
every week. I've come to appreciate it even more since its cancelation. I rewatch it all the time; I like the vibe, tone, it's funny of course, and it's great company. I'm still mad it's not coming back, but glad it's even available to rewatch.
I love this show in real life, but after so many negative reviews, I just felt like it needed to be known that 🌌someone🌌 appreciates what they've done here.
Just taking up space at this point. Idk what else to say. Favorite character is the bartender, Jake. So many great moments, love when the kids said "We love you, even in terrible places." Rel & Tasha in the hospital, the exchange with the racist patient, Rel's flashback with his mom, etc.
