Applicant:  Bay Harbor Company, LLC 

Proposed Marina Expansion in Lake Michigan at Bay Harbor, Michigan.

Project Location:  The site is located at 4300 Vista Drive, Bay Harbor, Section 3, Township 34 N, Range 6 W, Emmet County, Michigan, 49770.

Federal Authority:  The applicant has applied for a Department of the Army permit under Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899.

State Authority: Coastal Zone Management Certification (or waiver thereof) is required from the State of Michigan if this proposed activity would occur within the designated coastal zone.  

Project Description:  As shown on the attached plans, the applicant proposes:  Bay Harbor Yacht Club: Pier A: Extend an existing 325-foot long fixed pier by installing a 321-foot long x 12-foot wide floating head pier with a 92-foot long x 10-foot wide end pier. Install 12 – 50-foot long x 5-foot wide finger piers and 14 – 35-foot long x 3-foot wide finger piers. Pier B: Extend an existing 308.3-foot long fixed pier by installing a 396-foot long x 12foot wide head pier with a 112-foot long x 12-foot wide end pier. Install 14 – 50-foot long x 5-foot wide finger piers and 14 – 35-foot long x 3-foot wide finger piers. Pier C: At the waterward end of an existing 792-foot pier, install a 132-foot long x 10foot wide end pier. Install 12 – 60-foot long x 5-foot wide finger piers and 12 – 40-foot long x 3-foot wide finger piers. Pier D: At the waterward end of an existing 796-foot long pier, install a 142-foot long x 12-foot wide end pier. Install 20 – 60-foot long x 5-foot wide finger piers. File No. LRE-2003-561360-S24 September 24, 2024 Pier E: Extend an existing 324-foot long fixed pier by installing a 476-foot long x 12-foot wide floating pier with a 162-foot long x 10-foot wide end pier. Install 28 – 80-foot long x 5-foot wide finger piers.

Bay Harbor Marina: Expand the Marina Docks by realignment of Pier A and extend Pier B by installing a 573-foot long by 10-foot wide floating head pier, comprised of two 40-foot by 5-foot wide finger pier, one 40-foot long by 2-foot wide divider pier, ten 50-foot long by 5-foot wide finger piers, eleven 50-foot long by 2-foot wide divider piers, four 60-foot long by 5-foot wide finger piers, three 60-foot long by 2-foot wide divider piers, six 70-foot long by 6foot wide finger piers, five 70-foot long by 2-foot wide divider piers and a 140-foot long by 10-foot wide end pier to create 47 new slips.

The purpose of the proposed work is to expand two existing marinas.
