Don’t you love it when all of your clothes are folded in a nice neat stack that doesn’t fall over on the shelf?
I sure do.
Whether you store your shorts in a drawer or keep them on a shelf, here is a sure-fire way to keep them nice and neat.
Folding shorts is very similar to folding long pants or jeans –just easier. And since there is less fabric to deal with, you can fit more on the shelf or drawer.
Remember that the goal of folding is to fold items into a nice neat square.
How to Fold Shorts
Holding the pair of shorts by the waistband, give them a good hard flap to eliminate the preliminary wrinkles.
While still holding them with both hands, fold them so the back pocket is touching the other back pocket.
Now holding them by the fly or crotch of the pants, give them another nice hard flap to de-wrinkle and line up the seams.
Lay them down on your folding table and smooth with your hands.
Almost all shorts require that you fold the fly/crotch in on the pants so they will fold easily. Fold the crotch in on itself so it creates a rectangle of sorts. Smooth again.
Now simply fold in half and smooth again if needed.
Stacking Shorts
To get shorts to stack neatly in the drawer or on the shelf, stack with the waistbands facing opposite directions. For example, when stacking folded shorts place one pair with waistband on the left. The next pair should have the waistband on the right, and so on.
This ensures the stack is nice, smooth and sturdy.
