Big Mouth Season 7 Cast & Characters: Who’s on the Animated Show? - Netflix Tudum
- Puberty’s hard for the kids of Bridgeton Middle School.Oct. 20, 2023
The kids of Big Mouth are going through changes, but the animated seventh graders are actually voiced by a group of talented adult comedians. The series, which was created by married screenwriting team Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin and real-life childhood best friends Andrew Goldberg and Nick Kroll, follows a group of young teenagers at Bridgeton Middle School as they experience the wonders — and horrors — of puberty.
And, while there really is much that is wonderful about that time, do not underestimate the horrors. Big Mouth certainly doesn’t, even if it has a lot of fun in the process, thanks to featuring things like talking genitals (voiced by Kristen Wiig), animated excrement (voiced by Paul Giamatti), and the personifications of anxiety and depression (voiced by Maria Bamford and Jean Smart, respectively).
In Season 7, which is now streaming on Netflix, Megan Thee Stallion, Lupita Nyong'o, Zazie Beetz, Padma Lakshmi, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Billy Porter add their vocal talents to the mix (along with a new song from Lin-Manuel Miranda). The new episodes follow the group as they enter high school, where change is the only constant as they face a new school, new friends, new adversaries, and new Hormone Monsters.
Read on to find out what other A-list talent lends their voices to this racy series, which has seven seasons on Netflix and counting.
Nick Kroll
The series creator voices main protagonist Nick Birch, a late bloomer adjusting to adolescence. Maury is the personification of Nick’s sexual desires, who pops up to torment him at the most inopportune moments. Kroll’s other notable voices on the series include the incompetent Coach Steve, the ancient hormone monster Rick and popular girl Lola.
Actor and writer Kroll is known for his stand-up and sketch comedy. He has written and starred in comedies including Kroll Show, The Oh, Hello Show (and the filmed Oh, Hello on Broadway) and The League, and is a recognizable guest star on many television comedies, including Parks and Recreation, Community, Reno 911!, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and New Girl. His film roles include dramas Loving and Don’t Worry Darling.

John Mulaney
While Mulaney voices the occasional characters Mint, Future Andrew and Babe the Blue Ox, his main role is that of Nick’s best friend Andrew, a seventh grader obsessed with masturbating and a little further along in his puberty journey (hence the obsessive masturbating).
Kroll’s longtime comedy partner co-stars in the TV sketch-turned-stage show they created, The Oh, Hello Show, subsequently filmed as Oh, Hello on Broadway. Mulaney is a former writer for and frequent host of Saturday Night Live. Catch his Netflix stand-up specials New in Town, The Comeback Kid and Kid Gorgeous, and his variety special John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch.

Jessi Klein
Like Nick and Andrew, Jessi is a Jewish seventh grader experiencing the chaaaanges associated with puberty, and exploring her sexuality with her classmates and her own hormone monstress, Connie.
Longtime comedy fixture Klein has worked in development at Comedy Central, been a commentator on many pop culture series, is the head writer and executive producer of Inside Amy Schumer and has written two books.

Ayo Edebiri
Another member of the main friend group, Missy is a nerdy girl with a big heart and is also Andrew’s crush. Her mother is white and her father is Black, and in later seasons she grows closer to her Black cousins.
Before her on-screen career took off, Edebiri wrote for the comedies Sunnyside, Dickinson, Craig of the Creek and What We Do in the Shadows. You can watch her as Hattie in Dickinson, talented chef Sydney in The Bear and as Janine’s sister Ayesha in Abbott Elementary.
You can follow Edebiri on Twitter and Instagram.
Jason Mantzoukas
The sex-obsessed Jay realizes throughout the first few seasons that he is bisexual. His father is a lawyer (also voiced by Mantzoukas).
Mantzoukas co-starred alongside Kroll in The League, and has had memorable roles in comedies including Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place. His film credits include John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, Sleeping with Other People and The Disaster Artist.
Fred Armisen
Nick’s loving father is voiced by Kroll’s frequent collaborator Armisen, who also voices Bob the Hormone Monster — lots of hormone monsters on Big Mouth — as well as the ghost of Antonin Scalia. Naturally.
Wednesday’s very own Uncle Fester, Armisen is a familiar face to comedy fans from his many years in film and TV projects including Saturday Night Live, Portlandia, Documentary Now!, and on recent Netflix titles like The Bubble and the forthcoming Unstable.

Maya Rudolph
As Connie the Hormone Monstress, Rudolph helps usher some of the ladies of the show through puberty. She’s also Nick’s mother and Connie’s twin sister, Bonnie, who is also a hormone monstress.
Like Armisen, Rudolph’s storied, Emmy-winning career has included a groundbreaking stint on Saturday Night Live, as well as dozens of comedies including Bridesmaids, Wine Country and Sisters, variety series Maya & Marty, and many, many more projects.

Jordan Peele
Someone has to give Nick some sound advice, and it’s not going to be his hormone monster. No, it’s the ghost of legendary jazz musician Duke Ellington, who lives in Nick’s attic. Peele also voices Missy’s father, Cyrus, and a slew of other famous ghosts.
Before he became the horror king of the 2020s, Peele was a breakout cast member on sketch comedy series MADtv, co-creator of sketch series Key & Peele and guest star in comedies from Childrens Hospital to Bob’s Burgers. Then came Get Out and his Oscar win for best original screenplay, followed by new classics Us and Nope. He was a co-writer, producer and voice actor of last fall’s stop-motion animation Wendell & Wild.

Andrew Rannells
The school’s primary source of gossip (and actually the voice of Bridgeton’s morning announcements), Matthew has dated classmates Aiden and Jay.
Musical theater star Rannells was nominated for a Tony for his breakout role in The Book of Mormon (for which he also won a Grammy), and has had memorable stints in Hairspray, Jersey Boys, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Falsettos (which earned him another Tony nod), Hamilton and The Boys in the Band. Film credits include The Prom, The Boys in the Band and The Intern, and his many TV roles include Hannah’s best friend Elijah in Girls, aspiring stockbroker Blair in Black Monday and former boy bander Kev in Girls5eva.

Joe Wengert
Wengert voices Caleb and the dim-witted Lump Humpman, classmates at Bridgeton. As Joe the Hormone Monster, Gil’s best friend, he appears on both Big Mouth and its spin-off Human Resources, which follows the workplace of the hormone monsters. We know you’re curious.
Comedy writer Wengert has spent years on shows like Comedy Bang! Bang!, Kroll Show, New Girl, Single Parents and Big Mouth. He’s been on the other side of the camera in guest stints on shows including Modern Family, Key and Peele, Kroll Show and Another Period.
You can follow Wengert on Twitter.
Richard Kind
Andrew’s father, the short-tempered Marty, has a penchant for complaining and watching TV.
The renowned host of the “Girl Talk with Richard Kind” segment of John Mulaney’s Sack Lunch Bunch Netflix special, Kind has appeared as a cast member of the long-running sitcoms Mad About You, Spin City and Curb Your Enthusiasm. He’s also been a voice actor in Pixar classics A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 3, Inside Out and Cars.

Paula Pell
Barbara’s meet cute with her husband, Marty? Rear-ending him with her car. She’s a loving mother to Andrew.
A Saturday Night Live writer for a quarter century, Pell has won an Emmy and seven Writers Guild of America awards for her work on the long-running sketch comedy series. Other writing and producing credits include 30 Rock, Sisters and Mapleworth Murders. She also stars as former girl band member Gloria in Girls5eva.

Jon Daly
Nick’s goth older brother, Judd, is constantly getting into trouble and treating his family poorly.
Daly has appeared in The Life & Times of Tim, Happy Endings, NTSF:SD:SUV, Drunk History, Family Guy, Comedy Bang! Bang!, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Bride Wars and Blackballed: The Bobby Dukes Story. He’s written for Kroll Show, The Eric Andre Show and many more sketch comedies and short films.

Jak Knight
Thanks to his “marriage” to popular girl Devin, the well-liked cool kid DeVon is somewhat of a relationship guru for his classmates at Bridgeton Middle School.
Beloved Big Mouth writer and performer Knight died in 2022.
June Diane Raphael
The most popular girl in school, Devin spent years in an on-and-off “marriage” to DeVon and does not like Jessi and Missy.
Catch screenwriter and actor Raphael in Grace and Frankie, New Girl, Black Monday, The Disaster Artist, Blockers, Long Shot and Cheaper by the Dozen (2022). She wrote and starred in Bride Wars and Ass Backwards (co-written by friend and collaborator Casey Wilson). Along with Big Mouth co-star Jason Mantzoukas, she co-hosts the popular movie podcast How Did This Get Made?

Seth Morris
Jessi’s stoner father has extreme divorced dad energy, but loves his daughter very much.
Like many of his castmates, Morris is a comedian, actor and writer who’s been seen in Veep, The Good Place, Love and Broad City. He’s written for Bajillion Dollar Propertie$, Kroll Show, Childrens Hospital and The Eric Andre Show.
You can follow Morris on Twitter and Instagram.
Jessica Chaffin
Jessi’s mom had an affair and, after her divorce, is now dating Cantor Dina and figuring out her own sexuality.
One-half of comedy duo Ronna and Beverly, Chaffin has appeared in films including The Heat, Spy, the 2016 Ghostbusters and Pitch Perfect 3, plus series like Zoey 101, United States of Tara, Arrested Development, New Girl, Episodes and Man with a Plan.
You can follow Chaffin on Twitter and Instagram.
Gil Ozeri
As Wiggles, Ozeri voices the plush toy Missy uses to… practice self-care. As Brad, he’s the couch cushion in a relationship with Jay (just go with it). He’s also a hormone monster, who also appears in spin-off Human Resources.
Like much of the Big Mouth cohort, Ozeri is an alum of the improv group Upright Citizens Brigade. He’s a Big Mouth writer who’s also written many episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Happy Endings. He’s appeared on-screen in #BlackAF and Uncorked and also voices a character in Hoops.
You can follow Ozeri on Twitter and Instagram.
Neil Casey
Lars is a student who goes to school with Nick, Andrew, Jessi, Missy and the gang.
Comedy writer Casey is Emmy nominated for his work on Saturday Night Live and Inside Amy Schumer. He’s appeared on-screen in sitcoms Making History, Silicon Valley and Avenue 5, among others.
Thandiwe Newton
Missy might be an American from the Northeast, but her hormone monstress is British. Mona causes chaos in her charges’ lives and also appears in spin-off Human Resources.
You may recognize the iconic British actor and activist Newton from films such as Interview with the Vampire, Beloved, Mission: Impossible II, Crash and Solo: A Star Wars Story or from her star turns on TV shows ER, Rogue and Westworld.
