The Malay Navy originally served under the British Royal Navy during World War 2 but dissolved in 1947 due to recession. In response to the communist threat in 1948, the British reactivated the Malay Navy as the Malayan Naval Forces based in Singapore. The Navy grew on its own until it was handed over to Singapore in 1994. The Navy's mission is to maintain combat-ready naval forces to win wars, deter aggression, and maintain freedom of the seas. It has bases across Malaysia and focuses on uniform types.

NAVY

A Brief History
1. During World War 2, the Malay Navy serving under the Allied Forces or, more precisely under the banner of the British Royal Navy. Malay Navy serving with the Royal Navy in the field of operations in the Indian Ocean and the Pacific. When the war ended with the surrender of Japan in 1945 only 600 members report back. In 1947, Malay Navy had to be dissolved due to the recession On December 24, 1948, Emergency was declared in Malaya as a result of the communist threat. Recognizing its importance, the British Navy reactivated the Malay and known as the Malayan Naval Forces (MNF). Date March 4, 1949 saw the opening day and the establishment of MNF-based HMS Malaya, Woodlands, Singapore And after that, the Navy turned over to singapore in 1994. therefore, the Navy can grow up to now by its own members clustered together in collaboration to protect our country.

The mission of the Navy is to maintain, train and equip combat-ready Naval forces capable of winning wars, deterring aggression and maintaining freedom of the seas.
