Title – Otologic Photographic Review

Short Description – Otologic diseases are common in pediatric and adult patients. Subjective
symptoms are vague and non-specific, which leads to the ability of the doctor alone to recognize
and visually diagnose otologic conditions. This lecture will review over 100 photos of different
otologic diseases to improve your diagnostic skills.

Abstract
Leaning Objectives
1) Reviewing otologic physical exam including pneumatic otoscopy.
2) Viewing differences in physical presentations of the ear and tympanic membrane in
multiple acute and chronic otologic conditions.
3) Increasing speed of diagnostics by learning quick landmark identification.

Outline
Discuss pathophysiology of otologic conditions.
Review over 100 photos of otologic conditions.
“Jeopardy” at the end of the lecture with competing 2 sides of the room.

Biography – Dr. Jared M. Skowron is full-time faculty at University of Bridgeport Naturopathic


Medical College, teaching Pediatrics, CPD, Lab Dx, and EENT. He has recently completed a
textbook on Naturopathic Pediatrics, and is a national lecturer. His private practice is in
Wallingford, CT where he specializes in autism, PDD, ADHD, and other pediatric conditions.
