After Registration, students need to print out the titles of the books from the bookstore website. Students will bring the list to their guidance counselor. The counselor will verify if we have the books at OCSA . If so, then the book will be signed out to the student. All books must be returned to the counselor at the end of the semester or the value of the book will be placed on the student obligation list.
If the book is not available, then a book voucher will be issued to the student and they will take this form to the Valencia CC bookstore . The book voucher will then be returned to the counselor at OCSA with the receipt from the bookstore stapled to the front of the voucher. Please remember that the books are the property of the school district and cannot be written in or highlighted in any way, unless it is a consumable book.
It is the students responsibility to keep abreast of what is going on at OCSA especially during their senior year. Please read emails and check Connect! every day. Also, check your Atlas account each day for news from Valencia.
Many times, students will have after school practices or night performances that may interfere with scheduled Valencia classes. It is the responsibility of the student to coordinate with the teacher at OCSA and the professor at Valencia to work out the conflict. Sometimes a choice will have to be made between the grade for a performance and the grade in the Valencia class. Low grades at OCSA will put you on probation.
Grades must be printed off of Atlas as soon as they are available and given to the students counselor. This is also a good time to return books to the counselor as well.
