February 8, 2013 Dear Mrs. Reil, My name is Kelly Collova and I will be interning in your class this semester.

I am a junior at Rider University majoring in Elementary Education and Integrated Sciences and Mathematics with a minor in Middle School. I am a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Education Honors Society and a member of Student Education Association. I have also attended several professional development workshops at Rider such as iPads in the Classroom and Active Shooter Lockdown Training. During my sophomore year I observed a second grade class at Stony Brook Elementary School in Hopewell. My cooperating teacher had me stamp students homework pads in the morning, participate in morning meeting, assist students with class work, and work with students in small groups. I really enjoyed my last field placement and learned a lot about teaching, as well as myself as a teacher. I never conducted my own lesson before because I will be learning about how to make lesson plans this semester. I am excited to be interning in your third grade class this semester because I have heard nothing but wonderful things about you as a teacher and Wicoff Elementary as a whole. Thank you for allowing me to observe you and your class this semester. I am looking forward to it and I cannot wait to learn so much from you! If you need to get in contact with me my number is 201-697-2393 and my e-mail is collovak@rider.edu. Sincerely,

Kelly Collova
