Garden Features: Planting Bed Frames - Frames will be used for perimeter, area, and angle measurement lessons. Planting Beds - Filled with various flowers, shrubs, or fruit-producing plants for math activities related to height, distribution, and data analysis of seeds and flowers. Memorial Tree - Used for lessons related to similar triangles (determining height.) 3-D Shape Sculptures - Various 3-dimensional shapes (cubes, boxes, cylinders, cones, etc.) will be made from plastic shapes and displayed around the memorial tree for geometry-based lessons. Walkway - Created by painting numbers on bricks placed in between rectangular pavers and laid out to form the x- and y-axis for graphing activities. South Garden Border - Painted with number lines for various counting and computation activities. North Garden Border - Decorated with metric and English rulers for use with measurement activities. East/West Garden Borders - Painted with various mathematical formulas and shapes that will be used for lessons in the garden. Other features will include a weather station and sundial for lessons that involve math and science.
