An Intervention Program Model

The intervention program aims to promote family planning among Muslim women in Nepalgunj through three main activities: outreach activities including selecting female community health workers to conduct household visits and distribute contraceptives; behavior change communication such as female empowerment education and counseling sessions; and promoting contraceptives to males as an alternate method. The program targets women of reproductive age through grassroots outreach, media campaigns, and religious leader endorsement to increase awareness and use of family planning methods.

Model of Intervention Program


An intervention program should include the followings: Specific Objectives Indicators Target Group Time Perspective Activities Structure of Services Human Resource Training Strategic Aspects

Activities
Since we are a grass root NGO working in the sector of family planning we have developed the activities program as following: *Outreach Activities: Selection & mobilization of Female Community Health Worker (If possible from same community). FCHW will visit the household target group for family counseling, make them able to choose suitable contraception and to distribute the contraceptives as per need. Distribute IEC materials of family planning.

* Behavior Change Communication

Female empowerment through education. (Focusing on the reproductive age group). Counseling Session by expert. Creating Radio program or TV program for to promote family planning methods and telecast on regularly basis. (e.g.- Inviting the Religion leader from Muslim community to talk about family planning methods on radio or TV).

* Alternate Method:

We can also promote the contraceptives among the males of that community.
