Assignment: complete one of the following projects over your summer reading book. Your assignment should demonstrate your understanding of your book. Assignment Choices: 1. Make a collage of pictures showing a part of the book or the major themes. Explain how your collage represents the themes in 3 or more paragraphs. Each paragraph should include a quote from the book to support your point. 2. Imagine that you are the author of the book you have just read. Suddenly the book becomes a best seller. Write a letter to a movie producer trying to get that person interested in making your book into a movie. Explain why the story, characters, conflict, etc. would make a good film. Suggest a filming location and the actors to play the various roles. YOU MAY ONLY USE BOOKS WHICH HAVE NOT ALREADY BEEN MADE INTO MOVIES. Assignment should be 5 paragraphs total (3 about the story, 2 about filming). 3. Create a newspaper for your book. Summarize the plot in one article, cover the weather in another, do a feature story on one of the more interesting characters in the story, include an editorial about something that happens in the story, create ads that would be pertinent to the story, etc. Your newspaper should include 4 of the aspects listed above. 4. Choose five artifacts from the book that best illustrate the happenings and meanings of the story. For each artifact write a paragraph explaining why this item is important within your book. Each paragraph should include a quote from the book to support your point. 5. Creatively write a scene that has been lost from the book. The completed assignment should require 3-4 hours of writing and revising, or in other words be between 5-10 paragraphs. Schedule
