I am a multi-media journalist currently studying sports journalism at Southampton Solent University, where I will be entering my third and final year in September. My written work has been published by the BBC, Sky Sports, The Press Association (PA), Shoot Magazine, The Western Daily Press, Western Morning News, The Western Gazette, This Is Somerset, twentyfour7 Football and numerous other publications. Specialties: Match reports/previews, opinion pieces, creative writing, presenting (TV and radio), producing (Final Cut Pro and Adobe Audition), camera work, social media, extensive sporting knowledge.

SPORTS JOURNALISM EXPERIENCE

BBC Kick Off Sports Reporter Scheme - www.bbc.co.uk/careers/trainee-schemes/kick-off BBC Radio Bristol - July 2012 September 2012 I was chosen to take part in the BBC Kick Off Sports Reporter scheme as one of 20 successful applicants out of 300 entries, where I was placed on the sports desk at BBC Radio Bristol. During my eight week placement I produced packages for broadcast on the Saturday Sport programme, edited audio for broadcast, wrote cues for presenters, and led press conferences at Yeovil Town Football Club to be aired at a later date. LaLigaNewa.TV - www.laliganews.tv Assistant Editor October 2012 - Present As assistant editor of LaLigaNews.TV I provide content for the website including match reports, news stories, player profiles and opinion pieces. I collate and organise content from reporters to produce a weekly podcast; liaising with La Liga press officers to obtain the latest photos and news stories. I am involved in the editing and voiceover of multimedia content, and website promotion via social media.

Football Exclusives Chief News Reporter November 2011 - Present Alex OLoughlin

As chief news reporter for Football Exclusives I am tasked with receiving press releases from non-league football clubs which then have to be published in a journalistic manner on the website. I also source my own news stories through liaising with players and coaching staff, and allocate jobs to fellow reporters. On match days I cover Eastleigh FC where I provide match reports and multi-media post-match interviews. Goals On Monday www.soundcloud.com/goals-on-monday Creator and Presenter September 2012 - Present In September of 2012 I started Goals On Monday which is broadcast on the University radio station, Radio Sonar, every Monday between 6-8pm. I produce a script each week which focuses on the current debates within football including a number of features and games to encourage listener interaction, and I use social media to promote the show which is accompanied by my own marketing (flyers, logo design).
