Unit 1-Present Tense Contrast

The document contrasts the present simple and present continuous tenses in English. The present simple is used to describe actions that happen regularly or permanent situations, and takes the base verb form. The present continuous uses the verb "be" plus the "-ing" form of the main verb, and describes actions happening now or temporary situations. Examples are provided of affirmative, negative, and interrogative forms in both tenses. Exceptions to "-ing" verb forms are also noted.
