Part B

1. The document contains problems related to control systems including: - Sketching a bode plot and determining system gain for a given transfer function. - Explaining chemical regulation and neuro-muscular reflex models of ventilation with diagrams. - Deriving the response of an underdamped second order system to a unit step input. - Determining the transient response, maximum overshoot, and peak time for two unity feedback systems. - Calculating the factor by which amplifier gain must be reduced to change peak overshoot from 75% to 25%. - Determining the minimum value of a gain for a unity feedback system to achieve an error less than 0.1. - Analyzing the stability

PART -B

1. Sketch the bode plot for the following transfer function and determine the
system gain K for the gain cross over frequency to be 5 rad/sec.

G(s) = Ks

/(1+0.2s)(1+0.02s)

2. (a). Explain the chemical regulation model of ventilation with neat diagram.
(b). Explain the neuro muscular reflex model with neat diagram.

D Derive the response of second order system for a under damped system with a
unit step input [15]

A unity feedback system is characterized by the following open loop transfer
function G(s)=(0.4s+1)/s(s+0.6).Determine its transient response for unit step
input and sketch the response. Evaluate the maximum overshoot and the
corresponding peak time

5. A unity feedback system is characterized by the following open loop transfer
function G(s)=(0.2s+1)/s(s+0.8).Determine its transient response for unit step
input and sketch the response. Evaluate the maximum overshoot and the
corresponding peak time

6. A unity feedback system has an open loop transfer function G(s)=K/s(sT+1),where
K and T are positive constant. By what factor should the amplifier gain K be reduced,
so that the peak over shoot of the unit step response of the system is reduced from
75% to 25%

8.
A unity feedback system has the forward transfer function G(s)=
K1(2s+1)/s(5s+1)(1+s)

.The input r(t) =1+6t is applied to the systems. Determine
the minimum value of K1 if the steady state error is to be less than 0.1(16)
