Onset of NEW Session at Meri

The new academic session began at MERI on August 14th, welcoming new students to various courses running from 2014-2016. The freshers were introduced in orientation sessions to help them feel comfortable and informed about the college curriculum and events. Weekly cultural activities are held on Saturdays to develop students' skills beyond academics in areas like theatre, dance, music, sports and more. This year, a Corporate Social Responsibility activity was added to create awareness of CSR and career opportunities in that field. The eagerly awaited freshers party was scheduled for September 13th to officially welcome new students and help them feel part of the MERI community through interaction and entertainment activities like dancing and singing.

1. Onset of NEW session at meri


Finally the countdown ends, the classes for new batch for
various courses (2014-2016) commenced on 14
th
august 2014,
wherein new chapter of life started leaving behind the secured
environment of former college, buddies, and embark upon an
education that would shape their career. The freshers were
welcomed properly and were provided a healthy and friendly
environment, could encounter the curiousness and excitement
in their eyes.
The seniors were too friendly with them, students were asked
to give their introduction and they were put in a comfort zone,
thus inculcating a sense of belongingness. The classes started
with an orientation about the course, curriculum, teachers,
events held in the college, provided the sense of direction to
the students, etc.

2. Cultural FEVER
Weekly cultural activities are scheduled for every Saturday,
wherein students can partake in any of the activity they like. The
motive behind this activity is to provide a scope of discretion to
students, making them understand not to just focus on bookish
knowledge rather there is life beyond books and another motive is to
embedding in skill development. The activities include:


Theatre
Dance
Music
Guitar,
Sports
Literary works
E-cell activities
This year club activities underwent few changes wherein one more
activity i.e. CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) was included
in this club activity. The idea of getting CSR included was a creative
and noble approach, as an organisation is bound to fulfil CSR, also
creating awareness in the mind of students to what is CSR all about,
thus providing an immense platform to shape his/her career in this
field.
Many students were interested in this Activity, initiated with all ones
heart.

3. Freshers Party- an overwhelming
juncture
The eagerly awaited freshers party has been finalised for 13
September 2014, wherein the freshers will be welcomed officially and
be a part of MERI family, the freshers are introduced in a friendly
manner and to establish friendly cum respectful relationship between
juniors and seniors. There would be numerous activity held for them
such as dancing, singing and many more to come..... and last but not
the least the JAM session where the feets automatically taps at floor
with full zeal and enthusiasm .
