1.1. Tools Required For Maintenance and Repair
The support required here is to process and relay on to Central Control the alarm messages
provided by the AVP. The messages can be processed to locate faulty loops by:
• Vehicle undetected - noting gaps in the ‘Loop Occupied’ sequence as the vehicle passes
and/or appearance of the ‘Detector Fail’ signal.
• Loops not transmitting – no ‘Proceed On’ signal from one or more loops when not inhibited,
and/or appearance of the ‘Proceed Signal/Inhibit Fail’ signal.
• Failure to inhibit loops correctly – no or spurious ‘Loop Inhibited’ signals when expected,
and/or appearance of the ‘Proceed Signal/Inhibit Fail’ signal.
Listed below are the faults that could be detected by the control room.
