Steel Beam: Material Properties

This document is a summary of calculations for a steel beam called RB3 using the Enercalc software. The beam is 14.25 feet long, made of W6x16 steel with a yield strength of 45 ksi. Uniform and point loads were applied to calculate the maximum bending stress ratio of 0.495 and maximum shear stress ratio of 0.058, both below allowable limits. The maximum deflections were also within specified limits. The beam design was found to be acceptable.
