Designed and conducted water quality monitoring and nutrient transport experiment to identify potential
sources of eutrophication in coastal dune lakes in Walton County, FL. Conducted water quality sampling from
shore and canoes, laboratory and field spectrophotometric analyses, and utilized ArcGIS for watershed and
sample mapping. Advisor: Dr. Matthew Schwartz
Results are currently being used by a local engineering firm as the basis for a $500,000 grant application to the
Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection for the restoration of natural stream and wetland systems in the
watershed
